Silas woke a series of times for only a few moments each time he did. The cycle seeming to be on repeat for his semi-conscious mind. Silas would open his eyes a small crack, he would see Lilly's worried face there to greet him each time, he'd give her a little tired smile, and then close his eyes again before slipping back into darkness. He felt a dull ache all over his body each time, but Silas ignored it, allowing himself to drift off again and again each time he woke.
The time when Silas finally woke for good, he felt a familiar warm feeling against his side. He smiled and reached over to pet the small kitten, hearing a pleased purr in response. "Glad to see you are awake Massster." Rasia's voice whispered in his head. "Silas? Are you.. Are you awake?" Lilly asked from somewhere beside him. Silas nodded in reply and opened his eyes, flinching a slight amount. The dimly lit room seemingly bright to his weakened eyes. He lifted his free hand to shield them.
"Hey Lil.. how's it going? " He asked smiling at her weakly. She smiled back at him, the happiness glowing in her eyes. "Much better now that you're awake." She answered softly. Silas studied her face and saw the dark circles under her eyes. Oh no.. how long have I been like this? He wondered. "How.." Silas started but Lilly sat forward and put a finger to his lips, reading him as easily as a book. "You've been out a whole day Silas.. Whatever happened to you it.. It really wore you out." She said softly.
Silas sighed and gave her a resigned smile. She can read me so easily.. It's not fair. "Thanks Lil. You always.. Seem to know what I'm going to say before I even say a word." He said softly. Lilly smiled brightly and nodded kissing him on the lips. Silas grasp onto her tightly and returned the kiss with as much passion his weakened body would allow. The clearing of a throat made them both glance at the doorway. Lilly's expression turned uncomfortable instantly and she lowered her eyes. "Oh.. hey Ashlynn he's awake." She said quietly.
Ashlynn rolled her eyes and walked over to the couple. "Yeah I can tell. He's definitely got his energy back." She muttered as she knelt by the bed looking at him. Ashlynn had her poker face on, hiding what she was truly thinking from the two of them. She's always been good at that. So much for getting information out of her the easy way.. Silas frowned a little at the thought. "What are you doing here Ashlynn?" He asked. Ashlynn's eyes left his, finding anywhere to look but into his own eyes.
"I can't say anything with her here." She said motioning to Lilly. "She cannot know about the truth and you know it Silas. It's against everything we stand for." The human girl frowned at her. "What are you talking about? Why can't I know more?" She turned her head to Silas, desperation in her eyes. "I'm so scared Silas. Nothing I've seen these last few days makes sense. Kids are going insane at school, you get stabbed and or in the hospital from being attacked in the street. You're living in this old abandoned hous-"
Suddenly Lilly's eyes shut closed and she slumped onto the bed over his legs. Silas frowned and turned to Ashlynn who's hand was still out stretched from casting her enchantment on the mortal girl. "You know that'll only stall this situation right?" He asked. Ashlynn nodded and sighed letting her hand drop to her side. "Yes I know... but we need to talk before she hears anything." She said quietly. Silas glared at her a little, still not happy about her casting spelling on Lilly, but gave into his curiosity for the time being.
"What do you want Ashlynn?" He asked as he shifted uncomfortably in his bed. Ashlynn looked at him with a far more intense gaze than before. "I need your help Silas. Something's happened. Something horrible." Silas couldn't believe his ears. "Help? You need my help? Ashlynn I'm not quite sure you understand what banishment is, you're not even supposed to be speaking to me." He said. Ashlynn nodded and kept complete eye contact with him, which he didn't appreciate in the slightest. "I know, I know Silas, but there's something you don't know."
