Silas blinked and did a double take. What? Who have come? He asked mentally. I'll be outside in a second! A growl of annoyance spilt through his mind. "Ssstay insside the human dwelling. The demonsss who have been following you have come to claim their prize." Silas flinched and closed his eyes. Demons were following me? Why would they follow me? He questioned himself. The answer came to him within a moment's thought..
It must have been because of those two demons the other day. But if they are here they must know about.. Oh no.. Luke and Lilly! He turned to go and check on them but stopped when he heard a growl in his mind. "Don't draw attention to them master. They do not know the humanss are here. They only followed you thinking you were heading to your own home." Silas blinked. You knew all this? How? He asked in his mind.
The shapeshifter didn't reply for a moment, the feeling of uncertainty pouring into his mind. "Becausse I am guesssing. And when I guesss I am usually right." Raisa finally answered. Silas groaned and leaned against the door. Because you guessed they think that? You're basing my friend's lives on a guess? He asked putting as much disbelief he could into a mental conversation.Apparently it worked a little too well because he heard the now familiar feeling of her own feelings in his mind toward his words flowed freely. "Yesss.. I am guesssing... do you not trusst me Masster?" Raisa asked, sadness coming into his mind from her in a wave. No! I mean yes I trust you. But do you expect me to place my friends lives in the hands of a guess? That's not going to happen. Silas assured her.
There was another moment of brief silence then the answer came. "No... I do not expect you to. But I beg you Masster please trusst me." Silas was stunned but her response. He sighed and whispered. "I trust you.. You're probably right but I...I can't just let demons follow me here and survive. I'm coming out there." Silas grabbed the door and opened it stepping out into the night. The cold rushing to meet him like an old friend. "I..undersstand. Pleassse be careful." The small quiet words crossed his mind, although he wasn't sure of it was Raisa or his own imagination.
The yard looked empty, the snow covered the grass and was untouched. The driveway empty as well due to Luke's car being parked in his garage. Other cars were parked along the street, nothing seemed out of place. Silas frowned and continued to scan his surroundings until he spotted a flash as something shot between the cars near the yard's edge. Gotcha little bugger.. He sprinted through the snow and the flash happened again a between another set of cars.
Whatever this thing is it moves pretty fast.. But Raisa said demons not demon.. meaning there's more than one of them out here. Which means.. oh frick it's behind me isn't i-. Silas spun around catching a glancing blow to the shoulder. Pain shot through his shoulder causing his vision to darken for a second, but Silas dealt damage back as he landed a punch in the dark hooded figure's gut. The creature groaned in surprise beneath the hood and collapsed at his feet.
Silas pinned it down with his knees and threw back its hood as hard as he could. "What? You're.." Silas frowned upon seeing the figure was just a boy a few years younger than him. "Please don't hurt me man. I'm just trying to get some money." Silas blinked. "Money?" He said confused. The boy nodded his hair hiding his eyes. "Yeah money. Some guys told me if I took you down. I'd get a good sized wad of cash. I couldn't just say no to that. You looked.. easy."
"You're serious..?" Silas asked frowning with suspicion, ignoring the easy comment as best he could. The boy nodded quickly and gulped. "It's the truth!" He exclaimed wildly. Silas despite feeling in his gut something was off, got off the boy. "Fine. Just get out of her-" The boy's eyes glowed red as he launched himself at him. Silas dodged to the side and body slammed him, crushing the boy into the sidewalk.
The boy groaned in pain and tried to rise but Silas wouldn't have it. He pressed into his back with his shoe glaring down at him, cracking his knuckles for dramatic effect. "What do you want with me demon? Or do I need to ask your friend and just kill you instead?" He said in a dangerous tone. The demon squirmed under his foot causing him to pin him down harder, the response only making Silas shake his head.
"Let me go you filthy angel. I'll have your head for this!" The demon hissed beneath him. Silas dug his heel into his back and tisked as the demon struggled. "No no, that's not how this works. You see I'm not a good mood now. You kind of interrupted me at a bad time. But some answers may just make me think about not having crispy demon sauce in my ice cream mixture. Kapeash?" Silas said, allowing a slight note of sadistic venom enter into his voice.
The demon hissed at him and struggled with as much effort as he could muster. "I will tell you nothing heaven dweller. Now let me go so I can kill you and feast on your flesh!" Silas tilted his head and sighed getting tired of the feral demon's answers. "What's in it for me?" He asked. A screech from behind him was all he heard before something slammed into his back, knocking him into the snow.
Forgot about his friend being so fast. Silas grumbled mentally. He pushed himself up and turned to face the two demons. The newcomer had a face a model would envy, black hair, a strong chin, and sky blue eyes that pierced through whatever they gazed; which happened to be Silas at the time. He helped his fellow demon up and they glared at him together with hatred written throughout their features. "Filthy angel meddling in things he's not meant to be involved in." The new demon hissed.Silas frowned. "What are you talking about?" He asked in genuine confusion. The black haired demon spoke, seeming to be the more talkative one of the two. "We're here to collect what rightfully belongs to us." He said stepping forward aggressively towards him. Silas blinked and knitted his brows together in confusion. "What do you mean? What belongs to you?" He asked letting his hands fall to his sides.
The demons looked at each other. The first who had attacked Silas originally shook his head, but the other didn't hesitate to answer. "Our master never told us who exactly. But he desires the girl with the ability to heal others hearts." The black haired demon said. "She was meant to die years ago by our brothers, but one of your kind stalled her death." Silas' eyes widened in realization as he thought of who they were talking about. Lilly.. I saved her.
Silas whispered an enchantment of protection and cast it on himself as subtly as he could. "I have no love for your kind. But I also have no love for my own after what they've done to me." Silas said honestly. "So why don't we make a deal. I'm sure you might like it." The demons reacted differently. The black haired one seemed willing to listen. The first looked like he wanted to eat him, which he probably did very badly.
"Go on.." The black haired demon invited waving him on with his hand. Silas smiled darkly and tensed his muscles for what was to come. "You two go back to your boss in hell and tell him he's not taking anybody from me. Not while I'm still here." He launched himself forward tackling Growly pants to the ground. The demon screeched out in surprise as Silas punched his fist through his chest like a knife through butter. The demon blinked and looked at him in shock. His eyes rolled into his head and his body crumpled into dust.
One down... Silas whirled around just to get blasted onto his back from the other demon.. "You know that really gets annoying after a while." He grumbled and climbed back to his feet. The black haired demon laughed darkly. "Fool. You think killing my brothers and I will effect my Master's plans? Ha! We're nothing in this game besides pawns for my almighty Master to use as he see's fit!"
Silas glared at him balling his fists angrily. "You think this is a game? You're threatening my friends buddy. And that's not something I take lightly. Nor do I recommend it." The demon raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "Oh? And why not? Or you'll kill me with your failing angel powers?" He asked. Silas frowned to hide his shock from him. "How do you know about that?" He asked.
The demon chuckled and began to glow with energy. "No no. Question time is over little angel. I think it's time to finally clean the leftovers of your clipped wings now." Silas sighed and shook his head with mock sadness. "You demons and your annoying riddles. Just attack me already. I'm not dying any faster with you taunting me like that.." The demon growled in annoyance, letting his true eyes reveal themselves and stepped forward cracking his knuckles."You're gonna regret those words after I'm done with you" He growled the words and punched Silas in the chest. Silas' chest glew a dull blue before his shield shattered and he was launched back from the force of the demon's punch. He landed hard on his back, the wind being knocked completely out of him. Silas groaned weakly and tried to sit up, but a foot crashed down on his chest, the sound of his own ribs cracking only heard before he screamed in agony.
The black haired demon smiled down at him, his teeth pearly white and sharper than any human's would have been. His eyes gleamed with wicked enjoyment as he saw Silas writhe in pain beneath him. "You used to be so strong. Yet know you are nothing Silasil. You are dead." He taunted raising his hand for a final blow. A sudden wet tearing sound came from his back making him look down in shock at the foot wide hole that had appeared in his chest as if from nowhere. "What.."He gasped before collapsing into a pile of dust.
The gleaming eyes of a familiar small black kitten was revealed when the demon's dust had receded. "Master sshould've lisstened. It would have been eassier to handle them mysself." Raisa said teasingly. Silas blinked and relaxed at the sight of the little shapeshifter. "I couldn't just let demons roam free Raisa. Especially if they're following me." The kitten padded over and purred rubbing against his legs. "It'sss okay Master. I do not blame you. What were they after? Wasss it you?" Raisa asked curiously. Silas closed his eyes and whispered. "I don't think so. They want her Raisa, they came for Lilly... I'm sure of it."
