"Calm down. Let me explain." Ashlynn begged desperately. "You just had me help you carry Silas out of the hospital! With no explanation! Don't you dare tell me to calm down whoever you are." Lilly countered folding her arms. Ashlynn sighed and shook her head. "You're right I'm sorry. Just try to okay? I'll have him explain once he wakes up since you don't trust me." She said motioning to Silas. Lilly frowned slightly but agreed for the time being.
The two girls stood in silence for a moment trying to decide what to do. Silas groaned and shuddered opening his eyes. Lilly gasped and cupped his face in her hands gingerly. "Silas.." She whispered softly, tears appearing in her eyes. Silas smiled a bit and looked at her. "H..hey Lil." He replied quietly. Lilly smiled and gave him a small kiss on the cheek. Ashlynn cleared her throat awkwardly and looked away, folding her arms across her chest.
"By all means. Take your time." She muttered. Lilly pulled away from Silas and frowned at her. "Who is she Silas?" She asked turning to him. Ashlynn sighed. "I already told you I'm an old friend of his." She said. Silas shushed her and sat up grimacing. "I'll do the introductions." He said and looked at the two, his vision fading in and out of focus. "But Silas you really shouldn't-" Ashlynn tried but Silas cut her off. "Lilly this is Ashlynn. She's an old friend of mine from when we were...kids. Ash this is Lilly. She's my uh.." Silas stopped, biting his lip.
"I'm his new girlfriend." Lilly said happily. Silas flushed a bit. "Yeah.. that's what she is." He agreed trying to sit up. Ashlynn blinked at him and struggled to keep herself calm. "She's your.. Girlfriend...you..have a girlfriend." She repeated him in a statement, not a question, narrowing her eyes at him coolly. Silas nodded. "Yeah she is." Silas replied trying to stand despite the pain in his chest. Lilly helped him stand steadying him with her hands.
"You shouldn't be standing. You look like you could topple over any second." She whispered with concern. Silas smiled reassuringly at her. "It's okay. I've been through worse sweetie." Lilly frowned slightly and blinked at him. "You've been through worse? You were stabbed Silas!" She exclaimed. Silas avoided her eyes and murmured. "Yeah. I've had worse happen to me. Much worse." Lilly stared at him completely speechless. He grimaced and flinched with pain.
Ashlynn moved over and tried to grab Silas' arm. Lilly glared at her suspiciously as she took his arm in her hand. "What do you think you're doing?" She asked gripping the arm she was holding even tighter. Ashlynn sighed. "I need to get him somewhere safe. He's not safe out here." She answered and tried to pull him along with his other arm. Lilly pulled on the other with a start. "You're not taking him anywhere!" She cried but paused as the other words registered. "Wait what do you mean he's not safe?" She asked her eyes widening fully.
"Gods if anyone pushes my buttons it's you girl. You don't know anything about him. Or what's actually happened to him. He's in danger from forces you can't even imagine." Ashlynn said through her clenched teeth, and pulled his arm again. Lilly glared at the other girl not letting him go. "You're right I don't. I don't know a lot of things about him but you're not taking him anywhere. Not without me." She said quietly hugging his arm. Silas stayed quiet throughout their argument trying to control his rapid breathing. Ashlynn stopped pulling on Silas' arm and stared at Lilly.
"You're pretty stubborn for a mortal." Ashlynn said then paused to brush off some dirt on Silas' arm and smiled slightly. "I think we'll get along quite well." She said casually then added. "If you care about him as much as I think you do. Then you're going to be a big help." Lilly blinked and nodded eyes wide. "So.. you'll let me come with you?" She asked confused. Ashlynn put Silas' arm over her shoulders. "Yeah if you don't get in the way sure." She replied. Lilly copied her actions, straining under the weight of Silas' limp body.
"So where are we taking him?" She asked the other girl as they started moving through the snow. Ashlynn hid her face to hide her blank pale expression. "I hadn't really thought that far ahead actually." Lilly eyes widened again. "You don't even know where we're taking him?" She gasped, then thought a moment. "Why did you even sneak him out of the hospital in the first place?" Lilly asked confusion turning into accusation. "He could have gotten better there!"
