16 - The Gate

Kyler entered in to scan a bit of the perimeter. "All I see are dead trees." He mumbled. Nevaeh headed in as well did Caesar. "Mia, remember what I told you? Send—." Olivia said. "— Back Nevaeh and Kyler once we hit the wall to his location. Don't worry." I whispered. I hugged her so she wouldn't worry. I figured she needed it.

I stepped one foot after the other then closed the portal. "Take a look at this place." Kyler said examining the terrifying scene. "Bleh! It looks terrible. How could a place be so damaged?" Nevaeh said touching a tree stump. I sniffed around to find a way to the Gate. "Do you guys think that there's another name to this place other than 'the Gate'." He said with quotes. "Probably. I'ma call it... That One Disgusting Place Me and My Friends Went To." I said waving my hand in a rainbow motion.

"Hahaha. No." Caesar said. "It should be called My Ass Thinks You're Worst Than Hell." He joked. We all laughed. "Hey look there's a path." I said pointing ahead of us. "It probably leads to the entrance." Nevaeh suggested. "C'mon let's go!" I sprinted down the path, leaving everyone behind me.

I stopped running and thought to myself, how could I ever end up in a situation like this? This is really cool but I'm just a teen. I shouldn't be saving the world. I'm not in the Avengers or the Justice Leauge.

"Hey, you okay?" Kyler asked. "Huh? Oh yeah! It's just all of this is so crazy and I've never thought of doing this. Before I came to All Wolf Academy, I went to Idioma High School." I explained. "Oh, you came from an normal school. No-Fur-Fools." He said. We began to walk up the path. "Hey! I was very great at hiding my identity." I said twitching my ears. "I bet you did." He said smirking.

"I had friends there. I felt like I wasn't a werewolf anymore. It was my vacation of being one. But then, I woke up one morning to my parents packing up the house to move here. I've never wanted to move here in the first place but look where I am. Saving the world from immediate danger." I said. "You're not the only one. It kind of seems weird of doing something like this. When I was a pup, I've always wanted to help other people. Like Spider Man." He said looking down at the ground.

"Pfft! Spider Man? Ohmigosh, dude." I laughed. "What? I wanted to be a superhero one day." He shoved me a bit to the side. I pushed him back way more aggressively. "Ouch!" He rubbed his arm. "You really did change." He mumbled.

"Change?" I said tilting my head like a puppy. "Well, I mean your senses increased like 100 times more than your previous senses. You're and actual wolf in a human body." He said gesturing my body. "Heh. Well, not anymore. These ears itch and my tail feels reeaally weird. Whenever someone touches it, I get so flustered." My face burned red. I looked back at Caesar to show him some shame. He gave me a pouty face.

"Ugh! How far away is this Gate!?" Nevaeh complained. "We've been walking for an hour! My legs feel great." I boasted. "Didn't Olivia say that it was only a few yards away?" Caesar asked. "Yeah, she did. We've probably been walking a mile." Kyler complained as well.

"Heh, there's the Gate. It could've been more fixed. The bars are so damaged." Caesar said describing the Gate.

"Ok, no more complaints. I am not going to be the parent around here." I told them. "Yes mom!" Caesar said like a little kid. "I will kill you." I teased. He laughed. "No! You don't want to hurt your sweet baby boy?" He said.

"Uh guys." Nevaeh said. No one heard her. "I won't hesitate sweet child." I said smiling. "Guys?" She said again. "Not unless I get one hit on you first." Caesar said. "Lovebirds! We've got company." Nevaeh said ushering our eyes in front on us.
