Tokoyami waited patiently in the hallway outside of class B.
The door opened, and the students flooded out into the hall.
Kitsune walked out alongside Monoma and Tsunotori. She was chatting quietly with them.
She lit up, quite literally, when she saw Tokoyami. Monoma made a sound of disgust, and Tsunotori lightly punched him in the arm as Kitsune ignored him and made her way over to Tokoyami.
"Greetings", he said, giving her a smile.
"Hey Toko-chan!", she beamed.
He nodded his head in the direction the crowd was flowing. "Are you ready to head home?"
As they walked down the hall, he told her how great she was during the training.
"Thanks", she smiled.
The crowd got thicker.
"Be careful", Tokoyami said cautiously, taking her small hand in his, "You could get dragged away."
He chuckled to himself when he saw her look away. Her face was turning red.
"Why are you holding my hand?"
"Do you want me to let go?"
"...No. "

Tyler walked down the street with his hands in his pocket.
He caught sight of Kitsune a few yards ahead. Tokoyami was holding her hand, and they were chatting quietly together.
Tyler glared daggers into the back of her head.
He wished she would just disappear. Everything was perfectly fine between him and Ravan until she moved back to Japan.
He had been planning.
He knew a way.
If something happened, something horrible, she would want to move back to America. He knew it. He knew her better than she knew herself.
And he knew exactly what to attack, and when.

"Do you want to come inside?", Kitsune asked warmly.
"Um.. Sure", Tokoyami said reluctantly. Last time he was in Kitsune's house she was having a breakdown.
He followed her into her kitchen, where he watched her pull out a cup and dig through a cabinet of jars.
"What are you doing?", he asked curiously.
"Chamomile, cinnamon, rooibos- Oh? I'm making tea."
She pulled out a few jars and set it on the table. "Do you want a cup?"
"I wouldn't mind."
Kitsune sprinkled some herbs into two cups of water as Tokoyami watched. She used her light to warm the tea, saying something incomprehensible under he breath.
What was she doing?
"Toko-chan, do me a favor and remind me to place some sugar on my doorstep later."
"Why?"
Kitsune smiled at him playfully. "For the fae, of course. They get cranky when you don't leave some sugar out."
She poked the side of his face when he just stared at her quizzically.
"What? You didn't know I practiced witchcraft?"
Tokoyami's eyes widened in surprise. "No", he said, "You didn't tell me that."
His heart fluttered a little.
She handed him his tea and grabbed his hand.
"Here, I'll show you my room."
As she was leading him up the stairs, Tokoyami was glad his black feathers hid his reddening face.
Do American girls usually allow boys into their room?
"Kousaki, I-"
He froze once he stepped foot into her room.
The white curtains were open, letting in the inviting light of the sun. Plants of all kinds littered her shelves and hung from the ceiling. On one wall, right beside the bookself, was a large window with a sill wide enough to fit a small group of people.
It was bright and warm.
Just like her.
He gingerly sat down on the windowsill while Kitsune rummaged through one of her shelves.
She turned to him and handed him a leather-bound book.
"This is my grimoire."
"May I look inside?"
"Of course."
Tokoyami flipped through the pages. They were watercolored and pretty scrawl littered the pages.
"Ah, so you're into herbalism? The green aspect of witchcraft?", he inquired."Yup", Kitsune said proudly, sitting next to him in her windowsill and sipping her tea.
He'd never met someone else who practiced the craft.
He couldn't help but be happy that it was Kitsune.
"What do you do?", she asked him as he flipped through more pages.
"I mostly work with spirits."
"Ooo, I hear they're a bit difficult."
"I'm sure not as difficult as the fae you work with."
Kitsune gazed out of her window. Tokoyami glanced at her out of the corner of his eye.
In the light of the setting sun, she was beautiful. More so than before.
His heart fluttered again.
He could never get used to her.
