Kitsune fluttered up to the large school that loomed over them. She looked up at it in amazement.
"Have fun, Kitsune!", Ravan said as he and Tyler entered the building. Kitsune had wanted to linger outside a little longer.
She pressed her hands against her face and used the rays of light that shot out of her palms to warm her face. It was her way of comforting herself.
"Time to go inside", she told herself.
She was worried that her accent would cause her to stand out. Or that she would accidentally speak in English. Or just do anything stupid or clumsy, really.
Her wings drooped with anxiety as she walked indoors.
The hallways were full of students bustling here and there. Kitsune had to ask for directions to her class five different times before she finally reached her destination.
She hesitantly opened the door.
Everyone's head turned towards her.
"Hello!", she said cheerfully, trying to not show her nervousness.
"Hey!", a bunch of students said back.
A blonde stepped forward to greet her.
"Hello", he said sultrily, "You must be the new girl, Kousaki."
"Yup."
"My name is Monoma", the boy said with an unnecessary extravagant bow, "Welcome to class 1-B."
Another boy eyed Kitsune. He was tall with silver hair and markings around his eyes.
"You sound a lot like Tsunotori."
"Who?"
A blonde girl with large horns spun around. "Tetsutestu, did you say my name?"
Kitsune bursted into a grin as soon as she heard her voice.
"You're an American!", she gleefully said in English.
"You are too!", the girl said back in surprise.
Kitsune flew over to Tsunotori. The two girls bounced around each other in excitement.
Monoma smiled at the two. "It seems you've made a friend already Kousaki."
Kitsune brushed a strand of blue hair out of her face.
Maybe this wouldn't be so bad?
Maybe she could actually look forward to school?
"Please sit down", the teacher walked in. He introduced himself to Kitsune as Vlad King.
"Nice to meet you, Kousaki", he said, giving her a small smile she wasn't expecting from such a big man.
"Do you have your hero costume? You'll be needing it today."
Kitsune nodded. "It's in my bag", she said.
"Let's get changed", he bellowed to the class, spooking her a bit, "We're working with class A today."
A groan came from the back of the class.
"Behave, Monoma."
