Chapter 13

Ender

I wake up in a jolt, and I feel burning. Where am I? I look around, and it looks like we are back at camp. Why? When? How? I see Seto sitting next to me, with tear streaks down his face. Why did I live? I looked at the puncture holes, where they injected the.. I don't even know, into me. I shiver slightly at thinking of it. I hobbled over to the fire anxiously. "Ender!" Hope yelled, and hugged me. I winced slightly, from the pain. "How are you doing?" She asks, letting me go. I shy away slightly.

"What's the matter?" She asks, persistently. I point at my throat and shake my head as I cry. "Oh my god." She says, hugging me. I hug back, and sorta smiled. I find my sword on the floor... 'It'll be alright.' I write with the sword. She nods, and we walk off, and sit by the fire. I grab a fish and eat quickly as everyone joins in. "How are you doing?" Ian asks, and I begin to cry softly as Hope hugs me.

"She.... She's mute. The torture was too much, and he was always yelling, so I figure to counter attack that is to be completely silent." She says, and I hug her harder now. I grab the swords sheath and wrote, 'that's basically it, but it's just temporary.... The problem is learning HOW to speak again,' trying to keep a poker face. Seto walks over for a second, then sits beside me, crying a bit.

Mitch, being the bitch he is, says "oh yeah, I was almost killed by your boyfriend here yesterday." Seto wails out, "do you think I was trying?! It wasn't me!" He then hugs me and says, "I'm so sorry! I just feel so awful about what happened yesterday

Seto stands up, and walks off for a minute, and the girls come to me.

"I'm so sorry!" Jay said first. "I can't wait to hear you again!" Brooke said next, and then Laura said, "I hope you are better soon." Artemis then walks up to me, and said, "I.." and she began crying and hugged me. I then notice her ears pop up, and I hear a twig snap. I tense up, and stand up along with her. She tries not to move, but her instincts kick in and she runs toward it.

I hear a yelp, and I ran toward it with Seto and Jerome. First thing I see is Artemis, convulsing on he ground, arm bent backwards. Seto covered his eyes (being squeamish and all) and Jerome went to her to help her. Me? I was fixated on something moving ahead. I run towards it, and hold my sword up, as if to say, "how dare you?!" He throws his arms up, and before he could talk, he was thrown up against a tree by Seto. "How fuckin dare you hurt her?! What did she do to you?" He screams, holding the man against a tree. His eyes were purple with fury,

The man had blonde hair, with brown highlights toward the bottom, and it was still a normal boys cut, but it was messy, and looked un brushed. Well mine probably was too.... And bloody. He was wearing sunshades, but I could see through them and see his eyes were bright emerald green, and his clothes were also shaggy, and he wore ripped jeans, and a green ripped hoodie. His eyes were frantic, and he looked like he was choking.

So this is what happened yesterday.

"Seto, let the poor man speak!" I quickly sign out. He blinks a second, and sighs shakily, and breathes in and his eyes slowly turned back to the brown I love as the man went to the ground. He gasps when the ray lets him go, and Seto rubs the back of his neck.

"Sorry...." He says to me and him. "It's okay." He says, standing up. "I'm so sorry! I was just so nervous! I didn't want HIM getting me again!" He says, throwing his arms up, tearing up. "Woah. Which man?" I give a look that said to him. "Oh... Um... Herobrine." He says. I gasp quietly and pointed to myself. "He got you?" He says quietly. "Yeah, I've been with him since my parents died in a car wreck, when I was 5, with my sister." I sign out so Seto could translate. "Been on there ever since I could remember, he got me when I was a baby." He says, looking down.

"What's your name?" Seto says, taking the words out of my head basically. "Um... I don't exactly know, but some people call me Zane." He says, looking at his feet. "Y'know, there's two left." He says, and Seto looks up confused. 'Zane' took off his glasses, and he flew up into the air. He put them back on and he floated down. Seto looks down and thinks, and covers his mouth.

"I was told I had a brother, but I didn't think it was true."
