Chapter One- The Deadly Hated
“Eva, come on, smile!” Jett cries, a silly, broad smile covering his pale face.
He still looks the same, his black hair with red tops, his blue eyes, the same stupid look on his face. The only thing he has to remember that day is the scar that he bears where Miss Davidson had stabbed him. He has gained more tattoos, piercings and become much musclier and an incredible amount stronger but he’s still the same old Jett.
“Smiling is for the weak.” I snap, folding my arms and turning away from him.
Big, bulky arms warp around my waist and I hurriedly unfold my arms, clutching the ones that hold me captive. “Eva, you do so much for me, for once do something for yourself!” Valentine exclaims, hugging me tightly.
“Master!” I breath as he shakes me slightly before releasing me.
“Come on, doesn’t a big hug deserve a big smile?” He pouts childishly.
I roll my eyes, “Doesn’t a war leader need to be preparing himself so he can win?” I challenge. An order form Valentine is absolute for me to follow but at times like this, I resist their banter.
Now it’s Jett’s turn to pick me up. He spins me around in circles before putting me down. I glare furiously at him but that only makes him laugh and grab my hands, running around in circles. How can they act so childish?
I finally manage to release myself him his grasp and I rip myself away from him, turning away and folding my arms.
“You’re such a big grump.” Jett moans.
I turn to Valentine, “Please, Master, give me my next mission I am eager to leave.” I address Valentine as he sits down in his seat; we’re in his study at the mansion.
“Your mission is to have a holiday.” He states bluntly, folding his fingers together.
“That isn’t a mission! Please, I want to help!” I plead, holidays don’t work for me. I will probably end up drinking and sitting alone in my room, feeling restless, like last time.
Valentine drags one of his hands over his eyes tiredly, “Eva, you help so much that I don’t really have anything for you to do, I mean-“
“You said don’t really have anything so there is something, what is it?” I interrupt.
Valentine stares at me with a bored blank look, “Normal people would accept a holiday…”
“I don’t care, I’m not normal, now what is it?” I cry eagerly.
It’s been three days since my last mission with Elliot, I’m sick of waiting and want to be given another mission, three days is more than enough resting time.
Everyone in the mansion has partners, even Hugo was is being tutored by Walter, an old friend of Valentine. Seth’s partner is Cain, a dark-skinned bulky bold man full of tattoos and a long beard who is 40, he remind me of a biker. Ebony’s partner is Corbin, Blade is with Amara and of course Jett has Darcy.
I work alone, minus Zaebos. My hair is no longer red; instead it’s half white and half black. My hair reaches my waist when it’s out but depending on how serious the mission is, I’ll just tie it up.
My wardrobe now consists of a lot of spikes, chains and leather. I definitely don’t look like a punk teenager anymore.
I don’t think there’s one Lumin out there that doesn’t hate me. I’ve killed and injured so many of them; I’m stronger than Jett, stronger than even my Master. For this reason, I can’t leave the mansion unless I’m on a mission or I stick to the alleyways and clubs for Tene. Elliot is the closest person I’ve been in contact with that has anything got to do with Willow Daytime. I’ve thankfully never seen those teachers, never seen those sluts and jerks and… I have never seen Duke.
