If He Only Remembered

Chapter 8

I woke up as usually with a killer hangover from last night. It was 7 and I didn't want to get out of bed.

"Get up Fatty, it's time to go to work! " She says blinding me by opening my blinds.

I quickly take a shower, get dressed and head to work. I'm greeted with my personal assistant. 

"Good morning" I say

"Good morning Ms. Claire" She says

"Do you like Seth? or are you related? Just curious" She says abruptly

"Huh? no why would you think that" I say confused.

"You went with him in his car yesterday" She says trying to connect the dots.

"I saw you, when I was leaving with Sean" Lilly says 

"Oh no I don't have a car and Uber is just a no at night. So he just drove me home. I'm good friends with his sister. It's nothing like that" I say 

"Oh okay, makes sense. I was just curious. I'm throwing a party tonight. You should come!" She says.

"Another party, there was one yesterday" I say

"I know but I just planned it and told everyone now. It's good for me because it would give me a chance to make new friends at this workplace since I'm new." Lilly says 

"Okay, I'll try to come no promises." I say and smile. She nods her head in agreement. 

"I have some files you need to get signed from Mr. Rutherford." I say handing her some files.

" Mr. Rutherford's late, he's not in right now" she says 

"Really?" I say surprised.

"I know he's never late, might be the party" Lilly says

"true" I say and sure enough she was right Seth was late he walked in had messy hair and he didn't have his usual coffee in his hand. 

"In my office now, Lilly" Seth peering in my office. I hand her the files and she takes them and walks into his office.

I go downstairs to grab my morning coffee, I decide to make Seth one too. As a gratitude for driving me last night. I walk into the office with coffee in my hand and place it on Seth's desk.

"Thank you" He says 

He takes a sip and gets up to close the blinds that overlooks over the office.

"Alright Lilly, I signed the documents you can go." Seth says

"Natalie, I need the file of 402 and k322 with finances to be completed and filed out from the file room" Seth says typing on his computer.

"Alright, I'm on it" I say

"Alrighty, are you going to Lilly's party?" Seth says

"Yeah" I say

"She's a sweet girl, I'm glad I hired her. Leah was just crazy and messy" Seth says

"She is" I say

"Great, Great, Vanessa says your getting evicted." Seth says.

"Yeah, since we getting paid bi-weekly I'm not going to pay on time. So I have to leave by tomorrow because I missed a lot of the payments" I say

"Right" He says

"Your broke!" He states the obvious.

"Natalie, Vanessa considers you family. So you can come and stay with us until you get payment and then move. I think it would change up the house too because Vanessa complains about getting lonely" He says typing away again.

"No I'm fine, I'll manage. You have done so much for me. Thank you for the offer" I say 

"Natalie, I'm not saying this to insult you. I'm trying to help you as my Vice President. You know Vanessa also. Your staying for a bit. Besides the mansion is huge so don't worry about it." Seth says.

"Okay, I'll talk to Ana and I'll let you know" I say

"Alrighty, here's my phone number just text me or Vanessa will literally kill me" Seth says and chuckles. I take the card.

"I will thank you." I say

"Also, if you want you can stay at the mansion and just pay rent. As much as you think is decent, I don't want you to pay but I get the conscious and mind thing some people just need to pay to get it of their chest." He says and I nod.

"I'm going to go and do the files" I say and I'm about to walk out the door.

"Seth?" I say

"Yea" he says looking at his computer.

"Thank you for everything. I didn't really get to thank you but seriously thank you. From offering me this job. That night outside the bar you saved my life. Now your giving me a space in your home. I know you know my parents, but their haven't been involved in my life they don't even know we're having financial problems. So I genuinely want to say thank you for everything and thank you for spreading your wings and giving me these blessings" I say. He stops typing and with his bluish/greenish eyes he looks at me.

"Anytime Natalie. Keep the good work up" He says and I nod my head and walk out. I complete everything and head home to get ready for Lilly's party.
