Reprogram's death affected them all. There was no "I was closer to him" or "I'm more hurt by his death". There was just "the death affected all of us".
Error slumped on his mattress. He had already transformed, on his haunches with his front claws off the bed and resting against the wooden frame. He could sense his hunger, but he wasn't all that interested in food. Flattening his ears as best as he could, he whimpered, his tail flat against the bed. He closed his eyes, tears starting to pool at his eyesockets.
He twitched his nasal passage and opened up an eye to see and smell Restart followed by Glitch. He lifted his head at the sight of his mother. Restart jumped up on his bed but didn't lie down, standing up still whilst Glitch sat down. "Me and your brother are going hunting. Do you want to come with?" Restart asked, her tail lying limp, quite unlike her as she looked forward to hunting.
Error lied his head on the bed again, licking his sharp teeth but doing nothing much else. "Not interested tonight..." He sighed through his nose.
Restart twitched her left ear as best possible, "Alright", she answered, giving Error a quick lick behind his ear. "Virus is staying as well, albeit soaking in the tub for the night. We'll possibly be back before morning. "
The light-boned wolf skeleton got off of Error's bed, her claws clicking against the hard wood alongside Glitch's. Error watched them leave, going through the back door's doggy door they installed God knows when.
If only he knew that was the last time he would see them before they disappeared without a trace.
