Nightmare swung her legs on the bed, biting the inside of her cheek so hard it bled. Her sister, Dream, was getting ready for a date, changing in the bathroom. She checked the clock for the hundredth time today. 6:03 PM.
"Hey, I just realized something!" Nightmare shouted so that the other could hear through the door. When she heard a "What is it?" In response, she quickly replied "Sexual activity is a viable option tonight!" She giggled.
The door suddenly opened up, and Nightmare flinched and jumped off the bed. Dream was dressed in lime green slacks and a faded brown boatneck, and with a nasty bright pink choker necklace to top it all off. "Nightmare, have a little curtsy? The neighbors three doors down might hear you, if they haven't already," Dream crossed her arms.
Nightmare scoffed and puffed her cheeks, "Said the one yelling 'sexual activity' outside the door..."
Dream rolled her eyes. "Shut up, Nightmare-"
"I won't til you agree sexual activity is a viable option tonight!"
Dream shook her head, "Look, it's not really a key interest in my relationship with Ani."
A moment of silence passed before Nightmare replied. "Well, okay, we'll just go with that, I just... I'll just tell you right now you should change even if you don't want to get lucky. You look like someone who just got out of an earth day hippie march."
Dream gasped, a look of shock written on her face but got over that quickly, sputtering out "W-what?! Don't forget I'm the one with the better fashion sense!"
Nightmare snickered, "Yeah, totally, you look like an upside-tree without the hugger, and the choker necklace is the dog leash that somebody left when they rescued the dog."
The older sister frowned, "I do not! For YOUR information, Night, you look like someone who had gone to a goth festival!"
"Why thank you, Dream," Nightmare smugly said, smiling. "But in all seriousness, I think I'll actually barf if you go on a date with Ani in that."
Dream stammered, at a loss for words. Nightmare found it an opportunity to add on to that, "I wouldn't even be caught dead with you wearing that..."
Dream stayed silent, wondering how she was going to counter her sister.
"Also, it does not help that that outfit is straining my eyes..." Nightmare looked away, "I'm sure Ani would cry when they see you, and not out of joy or happiness..."
Dream scowled at her sister, "Nightmare, why are you trying to make me nervous before my date?" She demanded.
"I'm not trying to make you nervous, I'm just stating the truth. The truth is you've got to change your outfit."
Dream put a hand on her hips, "I really like this outfit, it really shows 'me' like no other," She countered.
Nightmare facepalmed, "Well, dream on, Dream. Can I take a picture? Let me take one," She grabbed her cell from her front pocket and photographed Dream. After finishing, she handed the phone to Dream. "Take a look at yourself. Your pride depends on it."
After looking at the photo, Dream agreed to change without comment.
