Piano [DanceTale!Sans x Male!Reader]

You can't dance, that's a fact. Sure, you were slim and had the perfect body for certain kinds of dance, but you just don't. You preferred soemthing with less.. exercise. Yeah, you were a lazy boy. Problem with that?

So back when you lived on the surface, you took up a different hobby. You took up music. You can play many instruments, but your favorite has to be the piano. Why? Because you can have a different tone each time you play a different song. The same note can have a totally different effect on someone. It was also relaxing and fun for you. That's why you loved to play the piano.

But after things on the surface got really bad, like your family starting to abuse you for not being the though guy son they wanted, you decided to climb Mount Ebott and jump. That's what brought you here to Snowdin after playing for Toriel and earning your way to the rest of the underground.

The first thing you see when you enter Snowdin are two monsters having a dance show off. The music was more of that break dance-y, modern, K-pop like music. Two monsters were breaking it down and showing off. One was a bunny girl with some crazy flexibility to show off and the other way as a hooded skeleton who had more to offer than anyone else could up on the surface. You felt your heart pang right there.

The music stopped and both dancers sprung to their feet and stuck the landing. Everyone started clapping and cheering. You somehow made it to the center ring of the circle, eyes locked onto the skeleton as his took his hood off. He was gorgeous.

His eyesockets focused on you while you were zoning out. You flinched and shook your head when he caught you staring. Well, when you noticed he caught you standing. You looked down, embarrassed. Everyone was deciding who won. While everyone was distracted, you drop a few gold in the small bucket in front of his little area and walk away.

Time Skip

You managed to persuade someone to give you their old portable piano. It was a beautiful grande piano and you don't know why they wanted to throw it away. Plus there was wheels on it so he can just push it anywhere he wants.

Everyone here is such a good dancer, just like Toriel told you. But you want to be able to entertain and show off too. You push the piano to middle of snowdin square, already catching lots of attention. You even see that skeleton from before walking around with a taller skeleton you assumed was his brother. 

You sat at the bench, looked around, then thought about a song you could play. One you memorized so well you can't mess up. One so beautiful that it would leave everyone awestrucken and in tears. Then it hit you. You played the first few notes. Soon, the music and muscle memory took over and you were playing without a care in the world.

You had monsters all around dancing to your melody with partners. Everyone mixing their own dance style into your music. You just kept playing. You met eyes with the skeleton again as he gave you a thumbs up in the middle of his dance.

You may not be able to dance, but piano was your place in this better world.
