"You have quite a lot to do today Princess," my lady in waiting said.

"You know you can just call me Crystal, right?" I glanced at her. Lucy. She was in the standard black and white maid's dress with raven black hair in a neat bun. She seemed slightly bewildered by my statement. "O-okay," She said as she began to rummage through my closet. She took out a long pink dress with white lace along the bottom.

"You don't expect me to wear that do you?" I frowned. "Pri-Crystal. You're meeting the duke and duchess today, you have to look your best."

A wave of memory washed over me. I had to meet those people for another boring meeting. Even though I'm the Princess, I still wonder why I had to attend every meeting.

"Right, right," I wore a fake smile. "I'll change right away." Lucy glared at me for a moment before slowly exiting the room. As soon as I heard the door close, I threw the dress on my bed. "There is no way I'm wearing that."

I grabbed an orange tank top that I kept in a secret stash behind all my dresses, along with black skinny jeans and dark brown hiking boots. It might not seem like a 'princess thing' to have worn, but that was just me.

As I dashed through the door, I came to a sudden stop when I saw who was in front of me. "Nice try Crystal." Lucy pointed back to my room. "Go change."

"After that, you'll have your 8:00 Princess training, then water the royal garden." Lucy read from a scroll as we walked to the throne room. I was too busy loosening the tight bun my hair was in to even listen to what she was saying. But she grabbed my attention when she said, "And after that, your mother would like to speak with you."

"About what?" I asked nervously. My mother never talked to me unless I did something wrong, or it's very important.

I didn't break any laws recently, did I? I thought.

"I don't know, but it sounds important so don't be late." She continued to list my duties as I went deep into my thought. Why did my mother want to talk to me? Even though she's my mom, I was pretty scared to talk to her. For some reason, I felt like a disappointment to her and the royal family. She rarely told how she felt about me. Sometimes, it seemed like she forgot me.

"Ow..." I groaned, holding my head as the headache returned. I suddenly remembered my dream and what the person said.

Don't be forgotten.

"Are you okay Crystal?" Lucy asked, pure concern evident in her voice. "Yeah," I sighed. "Just a headache, I'm fine." "I suppose I could factor in a meditation session before the royal meeting...." she thought out loud.

I glanced around as I slowly entered the throne room. It was the largest room in the castle. White pillars with bright yellow banners were in every corner and three royal thrones were on the raised platform. One for the king. One for the queen. And one for me.

"Time to go!" Lucy said. "You have to get to Princess training."

After one excruciating hour of practicing perfect posture, I was finally finished with Princess training and crawled all the way back to the throne room. "Phew," I sighed, slumping down onto my slightly smaller throne. "Who knew that walking with a stack of books on your head could be so exhausting?"

I checked the Holo-vice (short for Holographic device) beside my throne. It was a small, tablet sized device used for communication. As I pressed the On-button, a translucent screen came up. "Time to water the garden," I moaned as I glanced at the time.

While walking to the garden, I covered my eyes from the bright sun. "I never noticed how hot it was," I said to myself. "Has it always been this hot in summer ?" I used my hand to fan my face as I entered the garden. It was a huge garden filled with several types of flowers, each one attracting even more insects.

I stood in the center on a stone platform surrounded by three buckets of water. I took a deep, relaxing breath and began to move my hands in a circular motion. Every time I controlled water, I felt different. Like all my worries completely vanished.

The headache that was pounding in my head immediately subsided. I completely forgot about all my royal duties. I forgot about the dream, and my mother. I forgot about everything. The only thing I felt was the water flowing through me.

I divided the water into five separate stream and guided them to the different plants. "So relaxing," I sighed in satisfaction.

"Good job, Crystal," I heard a voice say from behind me. Her voice. "Mother," I quickly turned around. "I can see you enjoy controlling water," she stepped closer which caused me to subconsciously step back. "But you must learn the other elements soon."

There was a long silence between us before I mustered up the courage to ask, "Why?" "Why.... what?" "Why do I have to learn all the elements? What's the rush?" "You're royalty Crystal! Of course you need to master all the elements!" She yelled.

"What if I don't, huh?" I said angrily. "What's going to happen? I won't be a royal anymore?" "What! N-no," Her answer seemed uncertain. "I can't be the first person in the royal family to only control one element right?"

"You are the first and LAST royal to control one element!" She exclaimed so loudly that I flinched. "Crystal. You must learn to control fire earth and air, please. For your sake and the kingdom's."

I was about to answer her before a loud ding rang in the air. "It's noon," My mother turned away from me. "The duke and duchess should be arriving soon. Make sure you look presentable."

I hung my head as she began to walk out and whispered, "Yes mother."

A/N

Heyo!

How was that one?

Once again, slightly more filler but I'll try to spice it up.

Can you believe it went over 1000 words?

I was in the middle of it and I realized it was 830 words. Then I told myself 'No! I have to put the part where her mother comes to talk to her!'

Welp, hope you liked it😋
