I got up from bed.

BAD idea.

The moment my feet touched the soft carpet, pain surged through my body again. My shoulder and wrist were still recovering and to make things worse, I had a headache.

I slowly crawled over to the vanity, gripping my stomach and holding onto the bed for support. The moment I got there I sat down and stared at my reflection.

I looked like I jumped straight out of a zombie movie.

My eyes had black rings around them and my face was extremely pale. I slowly rolled up my shirt and was shocked to see my stomach wrapped with bandages. "Did he beat me that badly?" I asked myself, cringing at my bad breath.

At least it's all over, I thought.

After what felt like forever, I was finally able to get up. I took a relaxing shower, brushed my teeth, combed my hair and applied more bandages to my cuts.

I slowly went down the stairs.

I knew I should have been recovering in bed, but I just had to see everyone.

I tried my best to use make-up to conceal the bags and scrapes on my face. My hair was in a messy bun which looked surprisingly good. I was even able to find a decent dress; a dark blue sleeveless turtle neck.

The first thing I saw when I came down was the  hole in the castle with sunlight bursting through. It wasn't a huge hole, so I figured the guards started repairing. Next I saw my parents and my friends.

Mom and dad looked extremely tired. For the first time I saw their hair messy and their clothes untidy. ".....image is ruined. We could invite some commoners over for a grand ball," dad said. "Yeah! We could show them that Crystal's okay!! That is..... if she's okay," Bill muttered.

"What?! Of course she's okay!!" Melissa yelled angrily. Then they argued back and forth. Even my parents had to take a few steps away to avoid the noise. "Crystal WILL make it, you hear me?!" Gill growled. "I'm glad someone has faith in me," I giggled silently.

All the arguing suddenly stopped as Gill folded his arms with a satisfied expression. "Thank you Crystal." Then he opened his eyes and stared at the ground in thought. "Wait.... Cry-"

"Crystal!!" My friends all yelled, running towards me. I was glad they didn't decide to crush me like Lucy did. Then, all the questions came rushing in. "Y-you're okay!" Melissa said on the verge of tears. "What happened?!" Marco asked.

"Why are you out of bed?!?! It's only been three days!"

"You're still covered with bandages. Go and rest!"

"I can't believe you kicked Damian's butt!"

"Not the time Gill!!"

I was about to answer until I saw who was behind them. My parents. I slowly walked by my friends, causing their chatter to silence. I stared at my parents, more specifically my mother. At first I ran up to her, but then I abruptly paused.

Is she mad at me? Does she even want to see me right now? I asked myself. D-did she even miss me?

Suddenly she leaned forward and wrapped her arms around my head. I guess it was supposed to be a hug, but she didn't want to touch my injuries. I took a few seconds to comprehend what had happened, but soon I found my hands wrapping tightly around her waist.

Then the tears came falling down.

"Y-you're alive," she sobbed, gently stroking my hair. Then I felt an arm on my right shoulder. It was my dad and sure enough, he was crying too. "I'm so glad... you're alright Crystal..." my father said in between sobs. Soon we started crying loudly, and that weeping turned into laughter.

We laughed at how near I was to death. How near Coralon came to being destroyed. I rolled my eyes playfully as I heard Gill behind me,
"Don't you just feel awkward in these family moments?"

After a moment of hugging, we slowly pulled away. I glanced down at my moms arm. It was wrapped in bandages and didn't look as broken as before. "And w-where's Damian?" Father reluctantly asked. "I guess he's.... trapped in my mind somewhere?" I shrugged. "I don't care where my brother is," mom said. "I'm just relieved that you didn't die..."

"So what happened to those ninjas?" I asked. "Turns our they were commoners that Damian hired to take you guys down," Bill answered. "They'll be serving like... a MILLION years in prison!"

My mom hugged my head one last time before planting a kiss on my forehead and stepping into another room with dad. "So this is who you really are?" Marco's voice came from beside me.

"Yeah..." I avoided eye contact.

Suddenly Gill jumped beside me and punched my shoulder. Luckily it wasn't my broken one. "Man! I can't believe we're friends with the princess!" "B-but I thought you hated the princess?" I asked confusedly. "Well~.... we DID think she was a stuck up, no good, awful, rude, annoying, worthless little-"

"Can we skip to the 'but' in this sentence?" I rolled my eyes at Jodie. "But spending weeks with you really opened our eyes and showed us you're true colors!" "The real princess is brave," Bill said. "She's got skills," Jodie continued.

"Smart," Marco smiled. "Obsessed with sweet and sour chicken," Gill grinned. "And has determination!" Melissa finished. "Thanks guys," I said, smiling like an idiot. "So, do you think Damian's gone for good?" Melissa asked.

Just as I was about to answer, the front door flew open and my entire family came rushing in.
