Man.... I am really craving some chicken right now, I thought, running through the challenge once again. "Come on Crissie. You've been training for two days straight!" Gill yelled. "Aren't you hungry? We brought chicken!"
I began to salivate as I thought of the delicious, scrumptious sweet and sour chicken. My stomach was growling, basically telling me to eat something but my mind knew that I had to master this element. "I'm kinda busy here!" I yelled, doing a back flip to dodge an arrow.
I heard them mumble something amongst themselves before exiting the room. Then I was back to the usual jumping and ducking to avoid arrows. The challenge seemed to be in levels; the first being to dodge the arrows and the next to dodge the pieces of earth.
When will this ever end? I mentally groaned. Just like before, the land at the end of the room blasted up before me. But this time I was thinking a step ahead. The moment I saw it in front of me, I quickly did a back flip and ran the other way. Not today! I thought triumphantly.
As I ran, I glanced back at the wall that tried to trick me. I felt so accomplished that I completely forgot about the OTHER pieces of land that were being shot upwards. My foot suddenly bumped into an elevated piece of land and I tripped, landing face first into the dirt. I staying in that position for a while, completely unaware that the arrows were still being fired.
Crud, I thought as I quickly looked up. My eyes widened as I saw the worst possible thing happen. There was an arrow that was fired, and was coming straight to my face. It all happened so quickly that I didn't have any time to react. I winced, thinking of all the pain I would be in after and brought my arms up across my face.
My breath became uneven and sweat trickled down my forehead. I closed my eyes and bit my lips, waiting for the incredibly painful impact.
But it never came.
I quickly shot my eyes open and glanced around nervously. What the? I thought. As I looked around, the only thing I saw was dirt. It was like some sort of shield that came around me.
How-
I suddenly glanced down at my hands. Did I do that!?!?
I was frozen in shock. Did I make the earth form around me? That was impossible. I snapped back to reality as I remembered the dilemma I was trapped in. After taking a deep breath, I jumped from the earth force field and made a dash back to the starting point.
The moment I got there, I collapsed heavily onto the ground. "Woah.." I whispered as realization dawned upon me. "WOW!"
I've gotta show the others.
~{*}~
"Is this really what you wanted to show us?" Jodie raised an eyebrow at me. "Your new yoga positions?" I stood with my legs apart and my fists clenched, punching the air rapidly. "No no no! I swear I have earth powers now!!" I yelled. "At least I thought I did...."
"Maybe you were hallucinating or something," Bill got up from his spot on the ground and handed me a box of wings. I looked down hungrily at the meat. I was starving. "No," I finally mumbled, grabbing Marco's wrist and bringing him to an open area in the room.
I turned to face him in my fighting stance with my eyebrows furrowed and a determined look on my face. "Fight me." "Wait, what?" Marco gasped. "Yeah. Fight me," I repeated impatiently. "Maybe my earth powers just need to happen through instinct! Come on. You're not scared are ya?"
"Oh no no no," he waved his hands at me. "You're not gonna play that trick on old Marco!" I smirked, realizing what I had to do. I placed my fists on my hips and wiggled my elbows back and forth while making loud shrieks like a chicken. "What are you-" "B-kaw! B-kaw!" I teased, shrieking louder and louder.
I could see the blood rushing up to his cheeks before he punched the air, sending a hot flame towards me. I was just able to roll to the right and dodge it. "It's a fight you want huh?" He said. "What? Are you scared?" I mocked again.
He began to attack, only this time he sent multiple fire balls at me. To be honest, they were pretty difficult to dodge. I jumped over one but had to slide the other way to avoid another. Then, he sent a massive fireball straight at me. I wasn't quick to react, and the powerful blast knocked me over.
My eyes slammed shut for a moment, and as I opened it, I saw another fireball heading straight for my face. Once again, I found myself in the same position as before. I squeezed my eyes shut and held my hands above my face, waiting to be knocked back again.
Instead of a powerful impact, I heard the sound of something in front of me moving. Hesitantly cracking my eyes open, I saw a wall suddenly appear before me. Everyone was quiet and still, probably trying to understand what had happened. "Crissie..." Marco mumbled surprisedly. "See? I TOLD you I had earth powers!" I quickly jumped up and dusted the rubble from my clothes.
I casually walked over to Bill who still had the box of chicken in his hand and his mouth gawked open. "Man, I am STARVING!" I said, taking a bite from the saucy wing.
Delicious.

😱
She has earth powers now!?
I dunno why, but I couldn't stop laughing about that last part with Crystal😂 Like.... she just revealed to her friends that she had earth powers, but she just casually waltzed over and grabbed a chicken wing to eat.
Ah. I love these characters.
