"Oh! How wonderful!" My mother exclaimed. "This certainly is great news," father smiled.

I stood there, mouth wide open glancing at my parents then back at Jordan. I was about to let loose and go crazy, but I managed to maintain my composure somehow.

"Mother," I said through gritted teeth. "May I have a word? Alone." As soon as my parents and I stepped away from them, I released all my bottled up emotions.

"WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!" "Crystal, please," my mother shushed me. "No! You listen to me!" I pointed a finger in her face. "My life is not some dumb princess book cliché! I have choices and right now, I choose not to be forced to get together with this random guy I just met."

There was a long pause as I panted in frustration before she whispered, "You don't have a choice." "Well, your majesty." We all turned around to see the duchess slowly approaching us. "Since the entire monarch knows about your daughter's.... disabilities, I believe the best answer would be to say yes."

I looked at my mother with the most pleading face I could make. "Yes. I accept. We'll announce it to all of Coralon tomorrow."

Are you KIDDING ME?!

"No!" I yelled. "No mom. I can't do this. How am I supposed to get married when I'm sixteen?" "Simple," she shrugged. "You'll build your public image together and get married at seventeen."

At that moment, I couldn't believe my ears. I knew no matter how hard I protested, my mother would never listen. "It's settled then," Sir William finally said. "I can't believe you guys." I growled at my parents. I expected that kind of behavior from my mother, but I didn't understand why my father allowed it.

Before they could answer, I dashed back to the castle.

I was supposed to be training but I definitely wasn't in the mood. I ran up the stairs, shoving by Lucy and slammed my door shut. "Today sucked," I sighed, jumping into bed. A loud ding from beside me caught my attention. It was a message from my holo-vice.

'You're late for training Crystal! Where are you?' Melissa sent a message. I sighed, slowly removing the flower from behind my ear. After staring at it for what seemed like forever, I crushed it up and tossed it to the floor.

"I need something to take my mind off of this..." I sighed as I took up my holo-vice. 'Sorry, I'll be there.' I typed. I changed into a black tank top with a pair of dark blue leggings before grabbing my bag and sneaking through the door.

As I crept down the stairs, I suddenly paused when I heard Lucy whisper, "Crystal, is that you?" "Y-yes...." I peered down the staircase. "What are you doing up so late? I figured you wanted to skip training." "Yeah, I know. I just need something to distract me from what happened today," I sighed, stepping down to face her. "Things didn't go so well huh?" I shook my head. "Okay, you can go. But don't stay up too long, you have a lot to do tomorrow."

"As usual," I replied half-jokingly.

"Hey Melissa," I said with a forced smile. "You're here. What took you so long?" My trainer wore a light grey baggy t-shirt with a pair of leggings. "Just got caught up with princess duties," I went over to put down my bag on a stool before turning to her. "That's all."

"Okay?" She didn't sound convinced. "You can start warming up."

I slowly walked to the center of the gym, stretching my arms and rotating my shoulders. As I took a deep breath, I got into a more relaxed stance and gently lifted my hands. They swayed and rocked while the water followed. It circled around me in a thin trail.

The way I controlled the water wasn't aggressive like it was when I fought. It was more peaceful like a relaxing dance. I closed my eyes and allowed the water to take complete control of me. Even though I couldn't see, I was able to bend the water into different shapes and sizes.

After I was completely satisfied, I returned the water to the jug and turned to face Melissa. "Nice," she smiled.

She walked over to me and sat on the floor with her legs crossed, gesturing for me to follow. "I know it's a very touchy subject for you," she said as I sat in front of her. "But we need to work on your elements." "I know I know," I waved my hand at her. "So which one do we start with?" "Well.... since you have the ability to control water, I think the best thing to do is to work on your air power."

"How are you going to teach me air if you can only control water?" I asked her. "Oh please!" She scoffed. "I've read everything about the elements. How hard can it be to teach air?" I raised an eyebrow at her. "Right."

"To begin, you have to enter a state of calmness. Close your eyes." "Okay," I obeyed. "Now, clear your mind of any negative thoughts. Forget about everything that happened today and pay keen attention to your surroundings."

I tried my best to forget about everything that happened. The dreams. My mother. My duties.

Jordan.

Soon, I found myself listening intently to my environment. I heard slight shuffling behind me but completely ignored it. Suddenly, I heard a loud whoosh and immediately felt my head soaking wet.

I opened my eyes and glared at Melissa who was controlling a pool of water between her hands. "What was that for!?!" I yelled. "Close your eyes!" She said. I growled before turning back around and shutting my eyes.

I would have completely cleared my mind- if I didn't get hit in the head by another water ball. "Okay. I'm trying to concentrate here and all you're doing I splashing me with water." "You need to sense the water coming so you can use the air around you to stop it." She explained. "I guess that makes sense..." I closed my eyes once more.

Splash

"Okay. This stinks."

How was that chapter???

I forgot to mention how's my writing? Like my style of writing, the way the sentences are structured and what can I improve on? That'll help me a bunch.

That ending part with Crystal though😂

Am I the only one who's obsessed with that name? CRYSTAL!

WE ARE THE CRYSTAL GEMS!!!!

Ehem... well then.

I.... guess I'll get going now, huh?
