"Crystal?" A voice whispered from behind me. "Why were you sleep walking?" Ellie asked. "What? I sleep walk?!" I glanced at the three girls who stood at the door and rubbed the eyes tiredly.
"Yeah. And you snore too which is-by the way-super annoying," Beth added dryly.
"Crystal," I turned back to my mother who's face showed that she was genuinely concerned. "What were you dreaming about?" "I... honestly don't remember," I lied. "You were mumbling some strange things..." my dad said from his spot in the bed.
"Like what?" "You kept on saying the word 'forgotten'," he answered.
"Since you're up, you can start getting ready for the day," my mother said as she got up from bed. When my cousins left the room, I paused at the door way and looked back at my parents. I was going to tell them about the dream, but I changed my mind.
They probably would think I'm crazy.

At about 6:00 in the morning, we were almost ready. Ellie was in a strapless, light pink dress, Beth was in a dark red dress and Elena wore a dark blue dress. They had necklaces and bracelets, and even flower headbands to match the theme.
"Are you nervous?" Lucy asked in a calm voice as she did my hair. "O-of course not. Who would be nervous when they're forced to attend a parade with their future soul mate and display fake powers hoping that the kingdom won't notice?" I blurted out quickly. "She's totally nervous," Beth said.
I stood up and stared at myself in the mirror while Lucy said from behind me, "You'll be fine. It's just for one day." "Yeah, I guess you're right."
"You guys should get going now," Lucy started packing up the room. "The ceremony's about to begin." I went to the door and paused right in front of it.
Do I really want to do this? I thought.
I looked to my right to see Elena holding my hand with a reassuring smile on her lips. Then, I felt Ellie's hand hold my other. "Let's go," I whispered.
We stepped out of the room and slowly walked down the stairs, arms linked together. "You all look great!" My grandfather said as we approached him. "Thanks grandpa."
My smile suddenly fell when I saw my mother. She looked as radiant as ever. She wore a beautiful light blue dress with lace around the neck. "Everyone ready?" My dad asked as he stepped into the room with my other family members.
"Ready as I'll ever be," I sighed.

The moment I stepped out of the castle, I felt the extreme heat of the sun. "For the parade, the guards will be bringing us in carriages around the kingdom. Everyone will be there so be on your best behavior," my mom said. Even though the whole family was there, it felt like that last statement was for me.
"Oh my gosh it's so hot," I panted, tugging on the collar of the dress. "Why did I choose to wear sleeves in summer?"
Soon, we were at the stone boarder of the castle where two more guards stood. As they opened the giant wooden doors, the first thing I saw was a carriage. Then, I looked behind it to see five more with two white horses attached to each.
In the carriage closest to me I saw a familiar face. Jordan's face. I had absolutely nothing against him, but I was just upset that I would be forced to get together with a random person.
Upon seeing us, he hopped down from the golden carriage and bowed before us. "I'm glad you could make it Jordan," my mother said before stepping away to another carriage. "Pleasure's all mine," he turned his attention back to me as our green eyes locked. "Hello Crystal," He whispered. "Hi....." I mumbled.
After the rest of my family members got into a carriage, Jordan grabbed my hand to help me up. I growled under my breath and yanked it away before going in myself. Soon after the door closed, we began to descend the hill.
I glanced over at Jordan to find him staring right at me. "What?" I felt beads of sweat trickle down my forehead-from the heat and my nervousness. "You know," he said in a more casual tone than before. "We've never really had an actual conversation." "And what's that got to do with anything?"
"If we're going to have to be together, it'll only be best to get to know each other," he shrugged. I thought for a moment. He was right. If I was going to get married to this guy, the only thing I could do was get to know him. "Okay," I finally said. "You start."
"Hi. My name is Jordan Stone, I'm sixteen and I'm apparently your soul mate," he joked. I laughed a bit before saying, "Hi, I'm Crystal Naypold. I'm also sixteen and I'm your soul mate too." We continued to introduce ourselves, cracking jokes here and there and I felt like Jordan wasn't such a bag guy.
"You know, I never really wanted to be the one," He said. "Which one?" I asked.
"You know. The one for you. I didn't want to have the power of all elements. I wanted to be free to choose who I wanted to be with." "I know right," I sighed. "I never asked to be Princess. To have all these roles and duties. I always wondered what it felt like to be normal.."
It was true. I always imagined what it would be like if I weren't the Princess. If was was just.... Crystal, the normal sixteen year old girl.
We sat in awkward silence as the carriage came to a sudden halt. I was so caught up with talking to Jordan that I didn't realize we already arrived.
Oh boy....
