"Why do you have that?" I asked in a whisper.
Taesung shoved the gun back into the holster, and warily looked me straight in the eyes. "These guys are dangerous, Micha. I'm sure you know by now. I brought it just in case, but now I'm thinking–"
"Don't tell me you're gonna kill him to get the keys!" I interrupted, but he shook his head.
"Only if I need to use it. I won't kill anybody, I'm not stooping down to their level. I'm just thinking... If I don't have another choice, it's a quick option to stop any one of them," he explained.
"But why?" I asked in confusion. "We don't need to shoot him!"
"Micha, I said I'd only use it if necessary. If I have the perfect opportunity and I can't think of any other way, then I'll do it. I'm not scared to use it, I'd do it in a heartbeat," Taesung explained, and I sighed, glancing over my shoulder to make sure that no one was watching us. "I wanted you to know so you wouldn't be surprised if I had to use it,"
"Okay, fine. Use it if you have to, just don't make me do it," I stated in a whisper.
"Wasn't planning to," Taesung replied, and I couldn't help but have an uneasy feeling as we walked out of the hallway.
"Let me go in front. Keep an eye out, alright?" Taesung whispered, and I nodded, glancing over my shoulder once more.
We quickly but carefully and silently walked through the hallways. If we made a single sound, it could expose our location to someone nearby, whether it be JH, or another member, if they've already woken up.
Soon enough, we were near the kitchen and dining room. I heard a bunch of clanking noises, as if there was metal hitting against each other. Was that JH? What was he doing in there?
Taesung turned to me quickly and put a finger to his lips, and I nodded. I glanced over my shoulder once more before heading into the kitchen silently.
JH had his back to us, and he was searching through the kitchen drawers, as if he was desperately looking for something. The clinking and clanking of silverware being shoved against each other was much louder now that we were in the same room as him, and Taesung carefully pulled the gun out from its holster.
He aimed it at JH and I took a step back. JH suddenly turned towards us with a knife pointed in our direction, alerted of our presence by the sound of Taesung's footsteps.
Without hesitation, Taesung aimed his gun towards JH's leg and fired, all in one swift motion. The bullet shot straight at his calf, and JH slid down the front of the cabinets to the ground with a sharp cry of pain, letting the knife fall with a clatter against the floor.
JH grasped his leg tightly in pain, and was trembling a bit. I took a few steps back from the situation unfolding in front of me. Taesung's hand stayed steady on the gun, his finger never once leaving the trigger.
"Should've gone to S' room to find a knife, I'm sure he has more than plenty." Taesung remarked with a laugh. JH slowly lifted his head up to shoot a nasty glare in Taesung's direction.
"What's the point of all this?" JH spat. "Shooting me in the leg just to make you feel better about yourself? We didn't need you to get to the top, stop acting like you're the one with all the power!"
"Actually, I do have all the power right now. I'm the one with the gun, you're the one on the ground with a messed-up leg," Taesung remarked. "Now give us the keys before I shoot the other one!"
JH just laughed, and winced slightly from the sharp movement. "We've known each other for so long, Tae. Pretty much our entire lives. You're not gonna give that up for a stupid, bratty, little rich kid that could care less about you, right?" JH stated, and I tensed. Is that what he really thought about me?
Taesung's hands clenched the gun even tighter, shaking from the pressure. He clenched his teeth, trying to fight against JH's taunts.
"You wouldn't shoot an old friend, would you? Just give up. We're like family, Tae. Family." JH taunted with an evil grin on his face.
Taesung closed his eyes, trying to ignore whatever JH was saying.
"That's right. I remember your weakness. You care too much about your family and friends... You can't shoot me now, can you?" JH taunted him once more with a laugh, and Taesung opened his eyes, and sent the fiercest glare I'd ever seen in his direction.
"Can you?" JH repeated, the grin on his face widening.
"SHUT UP!" Taesung roared, and pressed the trigger without a moment of hesitation.
JH screamed as the second bullet entered his other leg, and tears started streaming down his face. He looked at the ground in disgust, watching the blood dripping from his two legs and create a puddle on the kitchen floor. He was helpless at this point, there was nothing he could do but sit and stare at us in excruciating pain.
"What the hell happened..." A voice muttered from in the dining room.
My eyes widened, realizing we were only one room away from them. If they saw what Taesung did, and how I just stood by and watched... We would be in big trouble.
"Where the fuck are V and Micha?" RM shouted at the other members, and I then realized that Jungkook was still in there with them. "What the fuck did you guys do, Jungkook?"
"I–I did nothing!" Jungkook stuttered, and JH started to laugh lightly. He seemed to be looking at something behind us, and I turned to figure out what he was looking at.
I let out a tiny gasp at the sight. There was still food cooking on the stove... and it had just caught on fire. Taesung turned around to see the same exact thing, and quickly turned back to face JH once more.
JH tossed the keys in my direction, and I caught them with my open hand, leaving the other hand resting in my pocket. "Take the fuckin' keys, like I care anymore. Go before they see you." He whispered over the other's arguing from the other room, and the two of us ran out of the kitchen.
For once, I was grateful for JH.
