The two of us finally made our way out of the forest, and the area around us was just an open field. In the distance, it seemed like there was a small town, and I immediately knew it wasn't anywhere I'd been before. This was somewhere new.

"How are we supposed to find our way back?" I asked, and Jungkook shrugged.

"I don't know. We could head over there, just to figure out where we are." He suggested, and I agreed.

"Whatever, as long as we end up back at your side of town in the end." I mumbled. The chase had taken a while, and that combined with the long walk out of the forest... I was all tired out.

"Wherever we stay, we can't stay too long. We need to go back at some point, but we don't know if the search for us will increase there." Jungkook explained. "We just have to guess how long we should wait to go back."

I pondered about it for a second. We could stay in that town, but where would we stay? A hotel would be too risky... What else are we supposed to do?

"I think we should stay there overnight, then leave the next day, but where would we stay?" I suggested, and Jungkook smirked.

"Well... I guess you'll be getting a true homeless experience tonight." He laughed.

"Wait... You can"t possibly be suggesting–"

"Oh I am." He stated, an arrogant smirk covering his face.

I stopped in my tracks to stamp my foot on the ground, my hands balling into fists. "You can't possibly be serious! There's no way in hell I'm sleeping outside like a–like a freak!" I whined.

"Oh boo, hoo... Princess doesn't get to sleep in her castle for one night, and it's making her cranky?" He mocked, pretending to be sympathetic.

And now we're back at square one. It was as if yesterday hadn't happened at all.

"Oh, shut up, if you were in my situation you'd understand!" I argued, "Unlike you, who I'm guessing probably has had to do that before, I've been pampered all my life, can't you tell it's hard to get used to all of this?"

"Whatever, princess..." He muttered, walking on without me.

"And can you stop acting like that? It's annoying." I complained after catching up with him.

"I act nice when you do..." He added in a singsong voice, and I scoffed.

"I'm trying, okay? That's all that matters!"

Jungkook burst out laughing. "This is you trying?"

I pouted, crossing my arms and facing the ground. "Give me a break, okay?"

Jungkook stopped joking around, his expression turning serious as I looked back up at him.

"If you really want me to stop, I will." He stated.

"Really?"

"Yeah... Well, try to, anyways..."

I sighed, "That would be nice, thanks..."

We were silent for the rest of the walk.

As we got closer to the town, the grass had started to turn to dirt which would be used to grow crops later in the year, with a small path for us to walk straight down the middle.

Jungkook turned to me, "We don't know if they're searching for us here, and if they are, then we have no idea how big the search actually is. We need to be careful. Let me know the second you hear or see a sign of a cop or a cop car."

"Got it."

We walked through the giant field of dirt, and I was glad it wasn't growing or harvesting season. There would be people working all over the field, bound to see us.

We peacefully made our way through the field, and at the end, houses started to appear. In the distance, I noticed that the houses started to become denser as it got closer to the center of town.

My stomach was filled with butterflies. What were we supposed to expect once we got into the town? And where were we supposed to go?

Jungkook seemed to get a bit tense, and I knew at that moment that I wasn't the only one worried. This was all new to him too, and I seem to keep forgetting that small detail.

Just because he knows his way around town perfectly and all about the gangs doesn't mean he knows how to rescue someone from them.

Soon enough, we were right in the downtown area, with a bunch of restaurants and businesses everywhere. It was a bit risky, since it was more city-like than the rest of this place, but it wasn't nearly as busy as I'd hoped. That just meant a greater chance we'd be noticed if a cop showed up.

"Put up your hood," Jungkook quietly suggested, as he pulled his own hood over his head, leaving only his face visible.

"Why?"

"Because it'll be easier for no one to recognize us here."

I did what I was told without a response, pulling my long and tangled hair out to rest on my shoulders.

The two of us traveled quietly through the downtown area, careful not to draw attention to ourselves. I felt that our all-black attire, messy appearances, and hoods drawn up would seem suspicious, but who would really pay attention to that? We haven't done anything wrong, as far as they know.

Soon enough, we ended up at an intersection, and the downtown area started to disperse. A gas station appeared up ahead, and Jungkook quickened his pace to get there.

"What's the point of going there?" I asked, adjusting my speed to match his.

"We can ask if they have a map, and if not then we'll ask for directions on how to get back." Jungkook explained. That would be useful info to have, so I just went along with it. But he was doing all the talking, no argument needed.

Jungkook pushed open the door as we arrived, and before stopping at the front counter, he went straight to the small aisle with candy and snacks.

He grabbed a few bags of chips and other small snacks, checked the price, and held them up to show me as if he was asking for approval to buy them. I nodded, and he smiled.

He then approached the front counter, and the man sitting there looked up from his phone. He looked tired, and annoyed that we showed up and interrupted him from whatever he had been doing on his phone.

Jungkook placed the handful of snacks on the counter, and the man started scanning them.

"Also, do you have a map we can take?" Jungkook asked, and the man nodded.

The man sighed, and paused the item scanning to search for a map. He handed it to Jungkook, and continued to scan the few snacks we had. "Can't you just use Google Maps or something?" He commented.

Jungkook scoffed, "Does it look like we have Google Maps?", and the man laughed.

"I guess not..." He said.

Jungkook handed over the money, and the man handed him the snacks in a plastic bag in exchange.

Without a word, the two of us exited the station, and examined the map as we stood outside the door.

"Okay, the gas station is here." Jungkook said, pointing to our current location. "This town apparently neighbors my town, so if we walk along these roads here, we should be taking a direct path back." He pointed down a path of roads, and it seemed like a big distance to walk.

"How long should that take us?" I asked, and Jungkook shrugged.

"Not sure, maybe an hour? It could be more, could be less, I honestly have no idea." He replied.

"So now what are we supposed to do?" I asked.

"Explore, of course." Jungkook declared, his expression turning into a grin.

Judging by his expression, it seemed that we would have a lot of fun in this city. And I smiled.
