As we walked away from the burning building, I heard sirens in the distance, signaling that firetrucks had arrived at the scene. The police would probably be there too, along with an ambulance, and they would be arrested. I felt glad that we caused them to finally be arrested and get what they deserved for their crimes, but I also realized that Jungkook and Taesung would have to leave the scene, and fast.

The five of us started to run, and we finally made it to Taesung's van, going unnoticed. Luckily he had parked it far enough away, just so that no one would see it. Taesung headed towards the driver's seat, and we waited for him to unlock the doors. "Jungkook, you can take the passenger seat." He said, and Jungkook shook his head.

"No, I... I don't think I can go with you guys." Jungkook said softly, and I tilted my head.

"Wait, what do you mean?" I asked.

"Kook, come on. Don't you at least want to try and go with us?" Taesung said, and Jungkook shook his head.

"I can't."

"You can't be serious... Right?" I asked in a confused manner. Why wouldn't he go with us, what was wrong?

"Just give me a few minutes, I need to talk to Micha. In private." Jungkook said to Taesung, and he nodded.

I followed Jungkook away from the van as they all climbed inside, and once we were out of earshot from them, I started to ask questions.

"Why can't you go with us?" I asked, and Jungkook sighed.

"Micha, we're from two very different backgrounds. I lived a life of crime, while you lived a privileged life. You have everything. I won't fit in there, I'll just get caught for what happened in my past and go to jail, just like them. It's easier to hide out here, I'll just have to keep doing what I'm doing, and I can achieve my goal of getting rid of all of those gangs." Jungkook said, and I shook my head in disbelief. My eyes were watering again, and I couldn't bear to deal with this loss.

"But what about Taesung? He made a new life out there, he's doing perfectly fine!" I argued.

"He's been doing that since he left, which was years ago. He took the chance while he had it, but it's too late for me. And his name's not Song Taesung, it's Kim Taehyung. Taesung's the fake name he came up with, he completely erased his old identity. That's how he's able to live in secret." Jungkook explained. "I would never be able to do it, I'd slip up. Besides, now I have a much worse record, and it'll be so much easier to be caught."

"No matter where I go, I'd always be alone. I doubt your family would be okay with me staying anywhere near you, and I'd have nowhere else to go. This is just easier for the both of us." He continued.

"But–" I started, and wiped a few tears that had started to fall, "–Jungkook, I need you!"

"No, Micha, you don't."

"You don't understand!" I cried, "I was a total bitch before I met you, and I know I'm still working on it, but if you leave... Then I'll have no one. I'll just go back to the way I was before. And I don't want to be that way again."

Jungkook grabbed my hands gently, and stared me straight in the eyes. "You're strong. You can do it without me, okay? I believe in you, you don't need me for that. Besides, if I go with you... It'll only be harder to let go once I'm caught by the police." He assured me. "You'll be better off without me, and I know Taehyung knows your family well, you'll still have him. He can help you when you need it."

"Jungkook, you don't get it. I truly need you." I begged, not even trying to wipe away the tears as they dripped down my face.

"I don't want you to get hurt," Jungkook stated, his eyes watering. "Just forget about me. It'll be easier once you do, alright? This is already hard enough on me too."
