Mari's POV

I blinked the heaviness out of my eyes feeling drained but comfortable in a warm embrace.  I roll up to see Damian's handsome face hovering over me.
I said the only thing that came to mind,"We've got to stop meeting like this."
Damian glared and said in an agitated tone," Your actions were reckless and idiotic. I specifically conveyed to you that you were unwell and should not partake in any strenuous activity-"
I groaned and touched my head," Damian please stop I'm getting a headache."
Damian clenched his jaw, "So now you care about your health."
I got of Damian's lap, starting to get irritated,," Damian I was fine when I got in. I don't know why you've gotta be such an ass about it. How did you expect me to know that water would set something."
Damian suddenly shouted," I thought you were dead!"
That silenced me. It gave me a minute to hear the rain pouring outside. I got up from the floor, not showing the rush of dizziness that washed over me. I walked slowly to the entrance of the cave.
Damian say frustratedly," And now she wants to play in the rain."
I sighed and watched the droplets fall. Then looked down at my hands. Waves of panic washed over me and I stared wondering what was happening to me. If my powers will ever come back.
I felt tears burn in my throat. I took a deep breath and focused on the sound of the rain pouring and the crackle of the fire.
A song came into my head, a Tamaranian song that my mother used to sing to me. It was a warrior song, sang during times of war. I instinctively sang the first word , " Hear-" my voice cracked.
I took another deep breath. And sang, the Tamaranian words sounded foreign yet blissfully sweet.
"Hear the thunder rumble
Feel the icy cold
Outside the rain is falling
The wind howls 'Please don't go.'

The clouds paint the sky grey
Destroying all hope of light
Besides the lighting striking
As a sword strikes stone

Here the sparks ignite the fire
We stand around tonight
Here we are together
If never again, now.

So let the thunder rumble
Embrace the icy cold
Outside the rain keeps pouring
Hear the wind whisper 'Be Brave, Be Bold.'"
(Song written by Yeushaylia Naidoo.)

I finished the song as a whisper. I stood still for a few moments just staring at the rain.
I felt arms slip around my waist. I slid my hands up to his cheek, and felt a fabric covering his face. My eyes widen and I try to escape the steel arms  holding me, wishing more than anything for my Tamaranian strength.
I gruff voice said, as a weakly struggled," That was a beautiful song. Will you sing more for me?"
He sliced through my arm in a swift motion and I shrieked. The man turns me around to see the cave which has been raided with assassins, four of which held a gagged Damian.
His eyes burned with hatred directed at the man holding me.
A feminine, sly voice spoke," Refrain from damaging my son's beloved, Kirova."
Talia al Ghul walked steadily to me with controlled steps.
"So you're the alien slut's and the circus clown's daughter."
I gritted my teeth through the pain," Don't talk about my parents, you bitch!"
She slapped me across the face, "My son has disgusting taste. Take her away. I must speak to Damian."
Inhibitors snapped around my neck and my hands.
Talia smirked, "Oh she won't be needing those. She hasn't had her powers since the chromium poisoning. But keep it on, citedelians prefer their Tamaranians princesses bound, easier for them to toy with."
The Citedelians! I've heard stories of my mothers struggles with them., so as Damian. As I struggle against my captor he kicks out taking down two.
Talia orders my captor to get me out.
He pulls me into the rain, the wet cold making me shiver uncontrollable.
"Lucky aliens. I wouldn't mind me some of your ass."
