Damians POV

Lian went back to her parents to prepare for what was to come. Cain and I flew into the Bat cave after dropping her off and assuring her that we would tell her what we find. Father was at the computer with Kori, she seemed to be advising him on battle strategies that the Citedalians have favored previously. Grayson stood aside, listening intently. I walked up to Grayson and said as casually as I could, "Is MarI back?"

Grayson looked at me, worry lines etched in his face, "Yeah, shes in the Radiation chamber. They were caught on the ship. "

A panic struck my heart and I was afraid to ask, "Was she hurt?"

"Thankfully, no, I felt the relief flood my body, But shes pretty tired. Apparently, Superboy was made on the ship and so to get them out before more of them came, she used a lot of her power. Shes okay though. Just really tired. Mgann wasnt so lucky, but shes recovering."

I nodded," Did they find anything useful?"

"Cyborg is translating the files as we speak. You?"

While I talked to Grayson, Cain had already handed the laptop to Father. I was anxious to see MarI, I was sure Cain could explain what had happened. I turned to leave, when Grayson asked, "Where are you going? Dont you want to see whats on the laptop?"

"Later, "I say,"I want to update the team."

I turned as though going to leave the bat cave but ducked into the room where the Radiation chamber was, after making sure that Grayson, Father and Anders were busy. The Radiation chamber was made specifically for MarI when she was low on power or couldnt absorb sunlight because of Gothams weather. The room was small with white walls and a bookshelf in the corner for when MarI got bored. The chamber itself was glass with radiation lamps attached to the corners. It was long enough for her to lie flat and high enough so she could sit up in it.

She slept now, her skin glowing gold from the lamps. Her hair tied away from her face. I touched my hand on the glass, wishing to hear her voice. I sighed, "I thought we promised, we would avoid doing anything reckless."

I jumped slightly to hear a drowsy voice answer, "I'll have you know; I was being very safe."

She didnt open her eyes, but her mouth was tilted up in a small smile, "I'm happy you came back safely. "

I smiled, almost involuntarily," I assumed you to be asleep."

She eyes fluttered," I was before you started accusing me of breaking promises. You know how I am about accusations that arent true."

She sat up slowly, and I said, "Don't. From what I hear you need your rest."

She flicked her wrist in dismissal, "I'm fine. Is M'gann okay?"

I exhaled, "Grayson said shes recovering, Stubborn woman, which you wont be doing if you dont go back to sleep."

Mari rolled her eyes, "I'm still in the radiation Chamber, like an iguana, soaking up sunlight. It doesnt take that much energy to talk to you, just a lot of patience."

"-TT- "

Her smile widened in response, "Are you okay?"

I shrugged, "Barely bruised."

I went on to explain what had happened and when I was done, she said, "I'm starting to think your mother is bipolar."

I felt the tip of my mouth tilt up, "Perhaps she is."

She placed her hand on the glass, "I'm happy you're safe. I just really wanna come out of this thing and squish you."

I looked at the bags under her eyes and the way she moved lethargically, as though every movement was sore, and said sternly," Stay in there. At least until you feel better."

She rolled her eyes," I feel fine-"

I smile and say, "You are a horrid liar."

She sighed with a smile, "Fine fine, you win, dad. "

She yawned, and laid down, "Don't let the war start without me. "

"If I were able, I would finish the war without you partaking."

Mari had already fallen asleep.
