Chapter 6: Meeting Aaron

(Vixy's POV)

I'm nervous, very, very, very nervous. I had heard a lot about Aaron, yes, but what of I screwed up when I met him and everything would go to hell? Ugh, I hate it when my anxiety is peaked!

As we got closer to the auditorium, where Aaron was auditioning, I gulped.

Jasper and Vivian looked back, both with slight worry in their gazes. "Ya, know, we can always catch him before school tomorrow." Vivian suggested. I shook my head. "No, I'm good, just, give me a minute." I took a deep breath to calm down, even though my tail was twitching anxiously. I nodded. "Okay, time to meet, this Aaron." I said.

Vivian smiled. "Trust me, you two are going to get along swimmingly." she said.

'I hope.'

(No one's POV)

The trio quietly entered the auditorium when music started up.

Vixy's ears twitched, telling you that she knows this song. Soon enough, someone, a male in particular, started singing and Vixy turned her attention to where a male wolf maned fox was singing.

Vivian smiled. "That's Aaron." she whispered, shoving her paws in her pockets. 

Vixy lightly pushed her before continuing to listen to Aaron. She really admired his singing voice; it honestly reminded her of her father's when they would sing at their old home back in Fox Hound. The young vixen ignored the sadness in her thoughts and smiled as Aaron came to the chorus.

'Wow, he hits Evan's notes perfectly.' she thought.

Quick explanation, Vixy was a big fan of musicals, Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton, Heathers, Les Mis, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Something Rotten, the list goes on and on.

When Aaron finished, Vixy was in fact speechless. 

Jasper nudged the vixens. "Come on, let's wait for him outside." Jasper whispered.

The two nodded and honestly, Vixy could not stop thinking about how she was gonna speak and not screw up their first encounter.

(Vivian's POV)

I had never seen Vixy so speechless. Well, that's a lie, she was extremely speechless when dad became an officer when we were eight and when Hamilton came into our lives.

Anyways, I was excited for her to meet Aaron. Soon enough, the maned-wolf fox came out of the auditorium and Jasper noogied him, messing up his head fur. "You killed that audition dude!" he said. I chuckled. The two have been best friends since ever and sometimes, they faked hating each other.

Aaron pulled away from Jasper. "Dude, stop it! I was a nervous wreck." he said, rubbing his forearm. I smirked. "Yeah right. You were awesome!" I said smiling.

Aaron returned the smile before noticing my cousin. "Who's your new friend Jas?" he asked.

I turned to see that Vixy had turned her gaze to the ground, shy and more than likely anxious.

Jasper smiled. "Aaron, this is Vixy. She's Viv's cousin." he said. 

Vixy finally looked up and waved shyly. "H-hi." she muttered.

I could tell that Aaron shook his head clear. "H-hi. Nice to meet you Vixy." he said, smiling and shoving his paws in his pockets.

Vixy had finally looked up and smiled. "You too, I-I mean it's nice to meet you too, Aaron." she said, slightly cringing at her stuttering.

I was honestly laughing my ass off inside my head. Vixy never acts this way around males; not even those who flirt with her.

Aaron looked at Vixy with slight nervousness in his green gaze. "So, did you like my audition?" he asked.

Vixy nodded. "Yeah, you did a great job. In my opinion, you hit all those notes perfectly. Sorry, I-I'm rambling." she muttered. 

Aaron laughed. "Your cool Vixy. Can't wait to hang out more." he said.

Vixy smiled and I cleared my throat. "Well, Vix and I need to get home. So, see you two bastards tomorrow." I said.

Okay, so Aaron, Jas, and I have this thing where we act like we hate each other, but we really do like hanging out with each other.

Jas flipped me off. "Fuck you too, Vivian. See ya tomorrow." he joked and the four of us went different ways.

I smirked at Vixy. "So, do you like him?" I asked teasingly.

Vixy slightly pushed me away, embarrassment clear in her eyes. "I hate you."
