Chapter 55: I'll Love Him For a Thousand Years

(Vixy's POV)

It was about ten, twelve minutes later before Aaron pulled up into the parking lot of Tim's diner. Aaron looked distant and I knew what he was thinking about. I brought my paw up to his shoulder and rubbed it gently, trying to reassure him.

He gave me a weak smile before Aaron, Jasper, and myself got out of Aaron's car, heading inside. As we walked to the door, I slowly held his paw in mine, our fingers intertwining almost instantly. We have held each others paw so many times its like second nature.

He smiled softly at me and gave me a gentle kiss on my muzzle. I know the loss of his dad was still hurting him more than anything in the entire world, but all I wanted to see was to see my goofball smiling once again. I'm hoping my birthday present for him will do just that.

Once we got inside, all three of us sat down, but I had a feeling that none of us were hungry; Aaron's still trying to recover from the loss of his father, Jasper seems to be on edge, and I'm just nervous about performing my song for Aaron. All three of us just about ordered the same thing: coffee.

I mean, come on, none of us are really that hungry, we just need a bit of a, should I say, morning boost.

As we waited, I twitched my ears, hearing some vixens giggle and look at Aaron. Out of instinct, which was basically telling them that Aaron and I were dating, I twisted my tail around his tightly around his, making the muscles in my tail hurt a bit.

I heard one of the vixens whisper, "I can't believe that Aaron Black-mane is dating such a vixen slut. I mean, it's pretty obvious she has nothing together in life."

The other one whispered back to her friend, "I know, and she never sees her stupid uncle. She's gonna make the musical in six weeks a disaster."

I flinched a bit but did my very best for Aaron not to see this. Okay, I'm not gonna lie, I get nervous on stage, but not stage fright. Unfortunately for me, I recently started having a lot of anxiety about being the actual, full on main character of the story. I never told the others this because I know I can do it, but the thought of literally everyone in Zootpia coming to those shows makes me sick to my stomach, and a bit light-headed.

"Vix? You okay?"

I snapped out of my own thoughts when Aaron spoke, realizing I was gripping his paw and mine was practically shaking. "I, um, I just need some air," I lied and slowly stood up, letting go of Aaron's tail and paw. "I'll meet you guys by the car," I said giving Aaron a quick kiss on his cheek before walking out of the diner.

I'm sorry, but those vixens for some reason get to me. I mean, I know a majority of the vixens lost their crush on him ever since he and I decided to make our relationship public, but the popular vixens never did. Well, mainly their leader, Janet. She's a slut and Max is a manwhore.....they both fucking deserve each other. I sighed and shook the thought that Janet my steal Aaron from me out of my brain, trying to think about positive things.

Aaron would never leave me just like that, from what he told me while I was in my coma, he said that I'm the one that keeps everyone balanced in not just my group, but my family. I kind of thought back into the nostalgia of when we first met, him opening up more about his cutting and PTSD, the winter dance when we had our first kiss, god, that first date may have been four months ago, but it seems like forever! Anyways, I also thought about how when he visited me in the hospital, he always wished for me to come back to him, him being the first clear voice and the first person seeing when I woke up, how he's always been there for me after Viv's and Ben's deaths.
