Chapter 4: Meeting Jasper

(No One's POV)

A few days later, Vixy was still in the hospital, healing slowly but surely. She had cried all of her tears the first two days in finding out about her dad. Right now, she was just scrolling through her phone when a knock was heard.

"Come in." she said, turning off her phone.

Vivian poked her head through the door. "Hey, cuz. How ya feeling?" she asked, her ears twitched.

Vixy shrugged. "Well, other than the fact that my family is dead and that I'm still here in the hospital, I'd say I'm doing normal." she said, a little sarcasm laced in her voice. 

Vivian nodded. "Hey, I have someone I want you to meet." she said and opened the door a little bit more to reveal the newcomer.

(Vixy's POV)

When Viv opened the door, I spotted a male leopard with green eyes, black and brown spots, and a regular jacket over his clothes. He honestly looked a little nervous before Vivian dragged him in. I smiled. "Who's this?" I asked, my feeling of depression and anxiety slightly vanishing.

Vivian smiled. "Vix, this is one out of two of my best friends. Vixy, this is Jasper Black-heart; Jas, this is my cousin slash soon-to-be-sister, Vixy." she said. I mentally rolled my eyes. Since no one knew where dad's side of the family were these days, we all agreed that I could legally change my last name to Wilde, so I was a Wilde in about twenty minutes to two hours.

Jasper shook my paw. "Nice to meet you, Vix; is it okay that I call you that?" he asked. I nodded. "Sure, everyone else does, even though it's a very tiny difference." I joked slightly.

Jasper laughed. "I like you already." he joked back.

Jasper explained about half his life to me; even the part where he's been looking for his baby sister since he was ten when she disappeared after her birth. He also talk about this mammal, who might be his closest friend, "Aaron".

When I asked where his friend was, Jas frowned and Viv sighed. "At his little sister's funeral. He feels really bad for not doing anything. He was put in charge of her, but he turned around for about a second and she was gone. They reported her missing and they found her body by the lake. Poor guy's devistated."

I sighed. "I feel his pain." I murmured, lowering my ears when Megan and Kelly's screams rang in my ears.

Jasper tilted his head. "Vix? You okay?" he asked. I nodded. "Sorry, I've been through a lot and I kind of wanna be alone. It was nice meeting you Jasper."

Jasper nodded. "Yeah. See you around Vix." he said before he a Vivian left.

(Vivian's POV)

I sighed defeatedly and sat up against the wall, my ears lowered, Jasper sat next to her.  "Give it time Viv. It's only been a few days since they died." he said with a small smile. I returned that smile.

"Thanks, Jas. See ya around." I said as he left to head home.

'Hope Aaron likes Vixy.'
