The alarm sounded at 5 in the morning, I was already wide awake,

I was expecting him to pass before the next dawn breaks.

I left my bedroom into the living room, and turned on the kitchen light,

Until my eyes fell upon, a sad and dreaded sight.

I knew he was old,

I knew his time was coming,

But I didn't expect, for him to pass away so suddenly, and leave me such a wreck.

I came up to him and double checked to see if he was still breathing,

But my already hurt had to expect, this disbelief and grieving.

Goodbye, old friend once full of joy, such happiness, and glee

Who watched me romp around the yard, and was more than a friend to me.

When I lost Bleu in early summer, you still made me smile.

You would fill my days with endless wonder, and make my life worthwhile.

Your sister died away from you, which that I cannot feel,

I'm sure that when you started to go, you saw a light, and it was her that God revealed.

My tears stain my face as I sing, one finally lullaby,

And even though it helps to let go, it still makes me cry.

You and I moved across the land, from the east to the west.

You adapted quickly to the climate, an animals' most challenging test.

With a lump in my throat and tears to cry, one thing must still be said:

Goodbye Fenway, my beloved dog, on the rainbow bridge we'll meet again.

Okay guys, so, I did tell you yesterday that my dog was old and he'll more than likely pass...well today, he has crossed the rainbow bridge and joined his kennel sister, Lola who passed two summers ago. Something I left out in the poem, as I cried on Fenway, my mother came in and saw. I'll never be able to let go of him, and I know that's okay, but I also have to go to school and perform a project with such grief. I believe he died peacefully in his sleep. We will be keeping his collar because, for me, it's more valuable than anything. I love you, buddy, we'll meet again on the other side of the rainbow bridge
