Zabuza's voice dropped an octave when he chuckled, the sinister in it was flashing red warning signs within Hide. A cold shiver ran down her spine; the sense of fear returning to her body made her feet take two steps back, keeping a safe distance from the water clone.
"You really haven't learned anything have you?" Zabuza raised up his left hand up to his view, his fingers curled inside themselves making it appear as it were a human claw.
"Still playing your little game, pretending to be ninja. When I was your age this hand had already crushed many opponents." Small gasps of fear or shock, maybe both had emitted from Tazuna, Naruto and Sakura. Their bodies shifted (unknown to them), pulling their center backward as if to gain more distance from the clone.
"The academy graduation exam." Hide out loud deducted. Zabuza's dark eyes went to brilliant girl. She herself would say she was surprised but that would be a lie. In the book that was now sadly displayed on the ground mentioned the exam, of course it didn't mention Zabuza taking it but Hide wouldn't be surprised if Zabuza had taken it. The attention she felt from the clone further proved she was right.
"Zabuza the demon." Kakashi's wavered voice came from behind her.
'So..he got that nickname from..killing his comrades.' Hide thought.
"You know about the graduation exam?" Zabuza's clone questioned. A smirk creeped its way on his lips, even it weren't visible because of his bandages. More and more this little girl was showing true talent, a vicious killing machine or a proper shinobi. A part of him hoped it wasn't the latter, she would make a great killer.
Hide didn't answer the question, when Zabuza asked his question it confirmed her suspicion. Her kunai faltered from its ridge position, lowering slightly to her abdomen. Her eyes casted downward like if she were the one ashamed.
"What graduation exam?" Naruto dared to ask.
"Before a student can become a ninja they must take the graduation exam. That graduation exam was-" Hide raised her head up, now focused on the rogue shinobi who stood beside her. He looked at her with curiosity and sheer malice, almost edging her on.
"You had to kill your comrades in order to pass."
Fear pierced Naruto's heart like a kunai blade. His ears muffled out Sakura's plea of terror as his mind processed the ten words Hide spoke out. He couldn't even believe to think of it as true yet he knew otherwise. He couldn't imagine if he had to do that, kill Sasuke, Sakura, Hide. No he knew he wouldn't be able to.
"Ten years ago, in the village hidden in the mist, a graduation exam changed. One year before a dark evil filled the school with terror." Kakashi spoke up. His attention on the clone across Hide. "Without pause or hesitation, a young boy who was not even a ninja approached the class and took down a hundred of their students."
