Chapter 31: Don't leave me

"You - you what?" I said looking at him in shock.

" I love you Elle I realize that now." Shawn said looking at me.

" You have to be kidding me." Jace said storming out.

I was about to go after Jace but Shawn held me back.

" Elle you don't have to say it back but please don't leave me."

" I , I need to make sure Jace is okay." I said walking away.

I ran out of the room and followed Jace outside the house.

"Jace !" I said stopping him from going into his car.

" Why didn't you break up with him ! Why did you just stand there and say nothing !" He yelled.

" It's not that easy ! He said he loves me Jace, I can't just ignore that and break up with him right there ! That's cruel!"

"And what about me ! How do you think it makes me feel Elle ? I literally said fuck it and stopped blocking out my feelings for you and the moment something goes right he suddenly says he loves you!" Jace said with a single tear falling.

He walked up to me and held my cheek.

" Elle until you make up your mind -"

" No Jace don't leave me , please you can't leave me !" I said starting to cry.

Jace crashed his lips on mine but it didn't last long.

" Goodbye Elle," Jace said walking away.

He got into his car and I stood there and watched as he drove away. I felt empty and lost. My heart felt heavy and and my mind was empty. With tears falling from my eyes I felt a male figure come up behind me and held onto my shoulders.

"He'll be okay , I'll text him later." Shawn said behind me.

Without turning to him I stood there just looking at the spot where Jace's car use to be.

" Hey Shawn," I said nor bothering to look at him.

" yeah ?"

" I love you too."
