Chapter 6

Once we were done with breakfast, we stayed at Sebastian's place for a few more hours, until Ken decided to send me home with George. Unlike the last time, I was okay going with him but still, I don't trust him well.

"Good afternoon Ms Morris." He greeted me as I reached the reception and I smiled.

"Please call me Katie." I said and he didn't look very pleased with the idea.

"Sir told me to drop you at your home, is that right?" He enquired and I nodded. He took the lead and went ahead to open the door of Ken's car. I sat down comfortable as he closed the door and went ahead to took his seat.

"So...why didn't you told me that you don't work for Ken?" I asked him while he was turning on the ignition.

"You already didn't trust me, if I would have told you the truth you wouldn't have come with me...I am sorry for that Ms Morris." He said as he began driving.

"Hmmm...okay...but don't call me Ms Morris every time....just Katie..." I told him and he looked at me from the rear mirror with uncertainty.

He drove me all the way home and the ride was a silent one except for the few places where I asked him about them. He was polite and humble but wouldn't quit calling me Ms Morris and would only answer in short sentences. After I reach home, I went up to my room as no one was downstairs. I wanted to sleep but with so much going into my mind, I couldn't sleep. I took out my phone and saw a reply to the message I sent to Mary wishing Good Morning.

There was never a day ever since Mary came into my life, I didn't wish her good morning. It's like my day couldn't start well without it.

Good Morning Katherine. Hope you are doing good.

I couldn't decide whether I should be telling her about my sudden marriage with so many conditions or not. If I'll tell her then she'll eventually make me confess that I don't want this marriage and then she will come all the way to New York and take me with her. As much as I don't want this marriage, I don't have a choice. I want my family and my family wants me to marry Sebastian. I will do it for the sake of their happiness even if that means crushing my own. Deciding I'll wait till this marriage was done and there can be no way left for Mary and friends, I kept quiet.

I am good. Missing you and your hand-made breakfast.

I hit the sent tab and then I phoned Chloe. Her phone rang for a few times and until she finally answered.

"Finally someone decided to call." She complained.

"Hello to you too Chloe."

"Where are you and when are you coming back?" I could sense the exasperation in her voice.

"I am fine...and about coming back, I'll be there soon." I lied. With all the marriage stuff, I don't think I am going back to Seattle any time soon.

"Good because I am missing you so so so much Katie..." She said and I chuckled.

"I am missing you too and Mary...and Hayden...how is he?" I asked her.

"The poor boy is missing his girl." She said and I giggled.

"I am not his girl." I said.

"Of course you are not." She said sarcastically and I rolled my eyes.

"So tell me what's happening?" She asked and I was again in the loss of words.

"Umm...nothing much. Dad and Ken are out and I was getting bored." I half-lied.

"That must suck. Hayden is also planning travel to Sydney soon and I wonder what I am going to do alone." She huffed and I know she must be pouting.
