Chapter 38

The next day, I dressed in a white shirt and black pencil skirt to a bit look professional. From today, I am going to be Sebastian's assistant and the thought itself is quite nerve-wracking. I barely slept last night thinking about what I signed myself up for. I don't know a single thing about what I have to do yet I am doing this for Sebastian/

I had never been to Sebastian's office before and when I stood outside of it, my nervousness didn't let me mesmerize the tall glass building even for a second. We rode up to his private elevator all the way up to his office on the 88th floor and all the while he was telling me something which, to be honest, I wasn't listening. Whenever someone would meet him, they would wish him morning and he would smile back and wish them morning. So far everyone has been treating me as Mrs Walter which makes me feel weird. I am one amongst them, a simple employee of this company. I had never liked so much attention or people treating me as if I am higher to them and I would like to keep it that way.

Once in Sebastian's office, he explained to me my job which comprised of attending all his calls, scheduling his day, attending meetings with him and more. Sounded a bit easy too easy until I sat behind the desk and one by one, calls started flooding in.

I was struggling like crazy as more and more people were coming to me and at the same time the phone was ringing and at the same time, I had to answer some emails. I was trying to multitask at y best. It was a lot but thankfully everyone was a little too patient with me, as it was my first day and secondly, I was Sebastian's wife. I am okay with the first one but the second one didn't seem to be fair. Today I even saw Sebastian work for the first time and unlike his over-talkative, fun personality at home, he was a strict boss.

I was writing an email on Sebastian's behalf when suddenly he appeared in front of me, startling me a bit.

"How's your day going?"

"I don't know if I can say it's good." I told him genuinely.

"Why?"

"I am unable to do anything right for the first time. It's too much information to process at one time. Salute to your assistant." I told him and he smiled.

"You'll get the hang of it. By the way, it's lunchtime. Let's go."

"I can't. I have to write 2 more emails and then I have to check these files before sending them to you."

"But its lunchtime." He said.

"I have a lot of work to do." I sighed.

"But it's lunchtime." He repeated and I looked at him with a frown.

"Hurry up. I am hungry."

"Sebastian."

"ITS.LUNCH.TIME."

"You won't budge until I come along?"

"Try me." He shrugged and I sighed.

"Fine."

I packed my stuff and grab my phone and wallet, followed him out.

We walked to a nearby sushi place which Sebastian claims is amazing and I must admit it was a good place. We were 5 minutes, infant 6 minutes late to be exact as Sebastian was busy making me try different types and flavours of sushi until I dragged him out of that place. He's a boss doesn't mean he gets to exploit his position. The last thing Sebastian wanted to try was a Philadelphia roll but I didn't let him and of course he was sulking.

We got back to work and the time flew by marking the end of the day but tomorrow is a much busier day as Sebastian has 3 meetings and I have to tag along to take notes. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my day and ranted about it to Jane who is happy that I am spending more time with Sebastian. I guess, it worked out well for us as all these small things are good to prove that we are actually in love.
