eddie felt the sting of his mother's hit on his cheek, and started to sob. he held his face where his mother hit him and wished that richie was there to comfort him. eddie curled up in a ball on the hospital bed and continued to sob, until he didn't feel the sting anymore."alright eddie, are you reddie to go?" asked the kind nurse that stood in the threshold of his room. "uh, yeah." eddie replied, scared of what he had in store at home. eddie was escorted out of the building and to the pick up area, where he waited for him mom, but little did he know she was certainly not picking him up. back at home eddie's evil mother was packing his things, and setting them on the front porch. she wanted him out, and didn't want to ever see him again.
eddie sat on the bench outside of the entrance doors with all of his things, waiting patiently for his mother to come, but she still didn't show up. eddie walked back inside after a while and looked at the clock. eddie had been released from the hospital at eleven o'clock, and it was now a little after four. he rolled his eyes and walked up to the receptionist. "may I use your phone?" eddie kindly asked. the receptionist nodded and slid the phone over to him. eddie punched the numbers into the phone, and listened to the soothing rings of the phone connection."hello?" richie answered, wondering why he was getting a call so late. "richie, can you do me a favor, you don't have to but it would be pretty nice." eddie wondered leaning against the counter. "of course, what do you need spaghetti?" richie replied, perking up from hearing eddie's voice. "can you get me from the hospital?" eddie questioned, hoping richie wasn't too busy. "yeah, I'll be right over." richie agreed and began getting reddie to leave. "thank you so much richie, i'll see you soon." eddie thanked as a huge smile spread across his face. "see ya, eds." richie replied, both of the boys smiled, and they could hear each others smiles through the phone. richie hung up and quickly slipped on his shoes, his smile not leaving his face.
eddie thanked the receptionist and slid the phone back over to her. she gave eddie an odd look, as she evaluated the conversation eddie just had, and noticed his nails. eddie shrugged it off and walked back outside and waited for richie.richie pulled up to the entrance of the hospital and saw a half asleep eddie, waiting on the bench. eddie looked up from his feet and saw richie waiting for him. "get in spaghetti." richie commented as eddie sprang up from his seat and ran over to the passenger side of richie's car. eddie jumped in, setting down his things, and his rose, and threw his arms around richie, "thank you so much richie, you're a life saver." eddie gushed holding richie close. richie blushed and looked down at eddie, who looked back up at him with big dark eyes. "can you take me home rich?" eddie wondered, finally letting go of a madly blushing richie. "yeah, that's why I'm here for right?" richie replied pulling out of the hospital parking lot. "so why didn't your mom come get you?" richie asked, hoping he wouldn't upset eddie. "well yesterday she came into my hospital room, and she asked if I was gay, and I lied and said no...but she could tell I was lying so she hit me, and now I think she never wants to see me again." eddie explained, holding back tears. richie glimpsed over at eddie for a second and saw how hurt he was, "how about this eds? if your mom some how was psychotic enough to kick you out, you can stay with me and my crazy family for a while." richie suggested, intertwining his fingers with eddie's for comfort. "that would be great richie." eddie accepted with bright pink cheeks.
richie pulled up to eddie's house, and both of them saw many bags of eddie's stuff piled on the front porch. eddie took a second look and couldn't believe that his mom had done this. the smaller boy broke out into tears and held his head in his hands. richie looked over and saw his crying friend, "do you want me to go get your stuff?" richie asked, rubbing eddie's back. eddie sniffled for a bit and sat back up, "no, just leave it there, I don't want any of it." eddie stated, wiping the remaining tears off his cheeks. "good, I always wanted you to wear my sweatshirts anyways." richie admitted, realizing what he said a moment later. "me, too." eddie spoke, looking over to richie and smiling, admiring richie more with each passing second.
eddie and richie walked into richie's house, and richie looked around to make sure everything was okay. both of his parents were asleep on the couch thankfully. "okay, be very quiet." richie instructed, as he grabbed eddie's wrist, and lead him up to his messy bedroom. "jesus rich, when was the last time you saw your floor?" eddie whispered looking at the mess before him. richie moved some stuff aside and exposed a section of his hardwood flooring. "right now." richie replied and sat eddie on his bed. "I can clean some of this up if you want me to?" richie suggested, hoping eddie wouldn't force him to do such a thing, but know the germaphobe that eddie was, he probably would. "at lease put your clothes away, if they're clean, and pick up the trash." richie rolled his eyes and flopped on the bed next to eddie. "couldn't we do something else?" richie pleaded peering up at eddie. "not until this room is clean."
