Diya's POV
" Office ja rahi hoon, maasi." I said. (Going to office, aunty)
" Tumhe one week off mile hai na?" (You got 1 week off, no?) She asked me sipping the coffee checking the newspaper.
" Haan. Mile to hai." (Yes got it) I said.
" To office kyun ja rahi hoo?" (Then why are you going to office?) She asked me. I chuckled.
" Woh boss k saath kuch urgent kaam hai. Abhi kerna hai, warna bohot der hojayegi." (Have some urgent work with boss. Need to finish them now otherwise it will be very late.) I said a bit dramatically and she laughed. I joined her.
" Ok, beta jao." (Ok, dear then go.) She said.
" Maasi, woh apse ek baat kerni thi." (Aunty, I wanted to talk to you about something) I said to her.
" Haan bolo na." (Yes, tell me) she said.
" It's urgent and it's about Chhoti." I said and she turned to me.
" Kya kia Chhoti need?" (What has Chhoti done?) She asked me tensed.
" Kuch kia nahi maasi. Uski birthday hai na kaal." ( She didn't do anything. It's her birthday tomorrow.) I said.
" Haan beta, mujhe yaad to hai." (Yes, dear. I do remember) she said to me.
" Kyun na iss saal hum ek party rakhe? Buss chhoti si ek party?" (Why not we through a party this year? Just a small party?) I asked her.
" Tumhe to paata hai Chhoti ko apni birthday celebrate karna pasand nahi hai." (You know that chhoti doesn't like to celebrate her birthday.) She said.
" Paata hai, maasi" (I know that maasi") I said.
" Phir?" (Then?) She asked me.
" Buss chhoti si hi to party hai or Chhoti ki mood bhi thik ho jayegi." (It's just a small party and it will cheer her up.) I said to her and she sighed.
" Lekin itna arrangements ekdin mai kasie honge?" (But how we can arrange everything in just one day?) She asked me.
" Mujhpe chhod dijiye na." (Leave it on me) I said. She sighed deeply.
" Thik hai, beta." (Ok, dear) she said. " Buss apni Dad ko miss kerti hai. Isilie mood off rehti hai uski." (Just she misses her dad. This why she gets upset.) Maasi said and looked away from the window.
" Chaliye maasi, abhi yeh saab maat sochiye (Come on, maasi. Don't think about all these.) I said. She just smiled a little. Then sighed.
" Haan, nahi soch rahi hoon." (Yeah, I am not thinking about these) she said and I smiled at her.
" To main ja rahi hoon office, maasi. Take care." (Then I am going to office, maasi. Take care.) I said and she nodded.
" Be careful, Diya. Kidnapping is a issue these days." She said and I nodded weakly. I know I almost got kidnapped if my boss didn't saved me that day. I smiled.
" Haan, maasi. Chinta maat Kijiye." (Yes, maasi. Don't worry) I said.
" Chinta to hotay hi rehti hai. Tum to phir bhi apna khayaal rakh sakti ho, lekin chhoti?" (I really am worried about you two. You can still take care of yourself but, Chhoti?) She said worriedly.
" Chhoti bhi rakh sakti hai." (She also can do that) I said.
" Ram ji jaane yeh bacchi kaab badi hogi." (God knows when this kid will grown up) she said.
" Maasi, don't worry. Samajh jayegi chhoti." (She will understand) I said.
" Thik hai, Chalo phir. Office k lie late nahi ho rahi hoo?" (Ok then go. Aren't you late for office?) She asked me.
" Haan. Buss nikal hi rahi hoon. Ap aaj college nahi ja rahe hain?" (Yes, I am just going. Aren't you going to college today?) I asked her.
" Nahi, aaj classes nahi hai." (There is no classes today) she said and I nodded.
" Accha, to main chaalti hoon." (Ok, then I am going) I said and walked out of the house and I saw Rick standing there.
" Good morning, ma'am." He said and I sighed. Why can't he just call me by my name!!!
" Good morning, Rick. Were you here all the night?" I asked him and he chuckled.
" No, ma'am. Another team was here. I just have come when you were coming out." He said.
" Can you please please please call me Diya not ma'am?" I asked him. He looked at me helplessly. I sighed.
" Ok. Leave it." I said.
" This way, ma'am." He showed me.
" Can I go by bus? You can follow me." I said.
" Please, ma'am. This way." He said and I sighed. I went with him and soon we reached office.
" Has Mr. Axton come back already?" I asked Rick.
" Yes, he has come back and he is in his office. You can meet him." He said.
" Won't he be busy? Should I go or not?" I asked him.
" You can go, ma'am. You are more important than works for him." He said and I sighed. I walked inside and entered the lift I found the other apprentices but jack.
" Good morning." I said flatly.
" Good morning." Bianca said. I got down on the floor of Mr. Axton's office. I was standing there totally confused about what to do.
" Diya?" I heard Mia. I turned smilingly. She ran to me and hugged me. I hugged her back.
" Good morning, little girl. How are you now?" She asked me.
" I am fine, Mia. What about you?" I asked her.
" I am fine too." She said.
" Mia, are you free tomorrow evening?" I asked her.
" Why, Diya?" She asked me.
" It's my cousin's birthday tomorrow and we threw a small party. If you and Johnathan could come it would be very nice." I said.
" We will definitely be there. No worries." She said. " But for now I have to go. We have a meeting. Talk to you later." She said and ran away. I chuckled. I went to Mr. Axton's office and knocked but no one responded. I thought for a second and walked away may be he is busy. I took out my phone and called Ardeyn.
" Hello." I heard his voice.
" Hello, Ardeyn. It's Diya." I said.
" Oh, hi, Diya." He said.
" Hi. I just wanted to tell you that tommorow is Ari's birthday. We threw a small party and you have to come no accuses." I said.
" Ok, ok. I will be there." He said and I chuckled.
" Is Asher there around you? If not text me his number." I said.
" He is here. Wait." He said and I heard some rustling. " Ash." I heard him calling Asher.
" Die." I laughed hard listening Asher's reaction.
" Here. Someone's asking for you." Ardeyn said.
" Hello?" Asher said.
" It's Diya. Lover boy." I said and he chuckled.
" Hi, Diya." He said.
" How is the scar?" I asked him.
" Better now " he said.
" Ok, listen now. Tommorow is chhoti's birthday." I said.
" I know that." He said in a duh tone. Of course he would know that.
" I know that you know but what you don't know is the party we throw and you have to come." I said.
" She won't like me there." He said. I sighed.
" Chhoti likes pink roses. Tomorrow evening. Don't be late." I said and hung up. I turned to go and I bumped into someone and my eyes open wide.
