There was a moan that echoed throughout the house. Could that be Ashton? But how though? If he was all the way up on the second floor...hmm weird. I got up and went up stairs. As I was making my way up, I couldn't hear anything. It stopped, but I was still gonna check.
When I got to the top, I didn't know which room to enter so I started the one next to the bathroom. I made my way towards it and held onto the door knob. I turned it and slowly opened the door. "Ashton?," I softly called out. This room was really big, a master bedroom. I tried to turn on the switch, but it wouldn't turn on. I guess the light bulb wasn't working. Great...
I took out my phone and put the really bright light on. I held it at arm length and shined it as I walked more inside. I was kinda scared. I walked to the bed and shined the light on the sheets. "Ashton are..are you here?," I could hear my voice tremble. No one answered so I assumed he wasn't there. I moved my phone around the room trying to see if he was across the room. I saw no one. I didn't intend to go more into the room so I turned back to leave.
Suddenly, something fell onto the floor. It was a small noise, but it echoed throughout the walls. I stopped in my tracks ," Ash-Ashton?,," I said. Nothing. Not one sound. I turned around and walked toward to whatever made that noise. I gulped. I held onto my phone really tight. "Ashton?," I called out again. I shined my light on the ground and saw something small. It was a pen.
A pen? Maybe the wind did it? No it couldn't have, last time I checked there were no windows in this room, just walls. I picked it up and set it on the table. As I put it down, I saw what looked like finger prints. They didn't look dusty or old, they looked fresh. My heart began pounding inside my rib cage.
I wanted to touch it, but I was scared. Instead I turned around and almost made my way out side. Then the door shut closed. I ran to the door and hit it with my fists, the phone fell onto the wood floor. "No! Open the door!," I shouted. I grabbed the knob and turned every way possible, but it wouldn't budge.
Ugh no! Was Ashton doing this? He couldn't have, well maybe. "Ashton you open this door immediately or no make out session for you tonight," I warned. I waited for an answer, nothing.
I grabbed my phone off the floor. I tired to turn the light back on. It didn't work. I hit it against my palm so it would work. The light then shined super bright against the door. I was relieved.
I shined it slowly until my back was to the door. When I saw someone standing there looking back at me. I couldn't really see who it was. "Ashton? Is that you!," I said. The light on my phone started fading until it was dim. I hit it gently against my palm," work you stupid thing," I whispered. I looked up and saw that someone step by step coming closer to me. "Ashton stop playing games and help me open this door."
I kept hitting the phone against my palm. "Work! work!," I was getting frustrated. Then it started coming back, but the light was dim again. I looked up and slowly raised the light on the person who was still a little bit far away from me.
I screamed for my life. It wasn't Ashton. It was the shadow thing that I saw when I arrived here. Oh shoot it was making it's way towards me. It's eyes were glowing red. It's body looked black like if it was black smoke.
It made an evil grin on it's face. It kept making it's way even more until it was right in my face. I kept on screaming, but no one could hear me. "ASHTON! ASHTON!! Help me!!!," I tried to scream really loud.
It looked at me deep into it's eyes," you die," it said in an evil raspy voice. I screamed and screamed till I could no more. It grabbed my arm with it's tight grip.
"Babe? Hey?," I felt a poke. I opened my eyes and gasped. I felt myself sweating. There was Ashton over me. I sat up and tried to breathe. I fanned myself with my hand. "Hey you alright?," he kinda chuckled. I put my arms around his waist and hugged him tightly. I dug my face into his right side.
"Hey it's alright," he pulled me closer to him. I felt his hands run my back. "Tell me what's wrong?," he asked me. I didn't know how to start, first off this was just a dream, but that shadow thing wasn't. I have seen it when we first arrived here.
I kept on crying and holding him tight. "Shh shh there babe, were you dreaming bad? Did you have a bad nightmare?," he said.
I was crying uncontrollably that I couldn't even answer him. All I could do was hide my face into his chest and cry.
He held on to me until he felt that it was alright to let go. He pulled me away and made me look at him. I tried to, but I felt the shadow thing was inside of him, staring back at me. So I looked down instead.
His hands gently ran through my hair and he pulled himself closer to me.
Time flew by before knowing that we both had fallen asleep on the couch. I awoke and got up from his arms. I made my way into the kitchen. I looked for water to drink. As I looked for a cup, I noticed my arm was marked red. Like someone had held a tight grip on it. I gulped knowing what it could have been. The shadow...
I went to another room to get my mind off what I had just seen on my arm. Maybe I was going crazy. This can't be happening, I told myself. But I couldn't believe what I was telling myself.
Maybe this new house thing was a bad idea. But if i told that to Ashton, it might break his heart and I didn't want to do that. I would just have to deal with it. I would investigate more into this house myself.
