"Up until now, I still don't know, whether I'm mesmerised by your beautiful music..."
Chapter One
This year had to be different somehow.
The same old routine every morning, I was sick of it. It had to change.
Well, I wasn't exactly sure how it was going to change, but well, it had to change.
These thoughts flooded my mind as I walked down to breakfast. Bacon and eggs were frying on the pan, the aroma drifting all over the house, giving it a somewhat cosy atmosphere.
I'm fifteen this year, and my name is Felicia Harrison. I'm a normal high school student, who has spent her whole life trying to get into Stutacco High School, the prestigious high school down in San Sebastian, California. My cousin, Maxine, is studying there (her dog luck's just that high) too.
"Hey mum, that smells amazing," I complimented offhandedly as I sat down at the table.
"I didn't cook it."
I looked up and saw my mum sitting at the table across me. I gave her a confused look. "Then who's cooking?"
"Me." My dad skipped into the dining room, a happy grin on his face so wide it would swallow his face.
Oh gosh, don't tell me he's seriously wearing a Barney the purple dinosaur apron.
"Wow dad, what's the occasion?" I asked. My dad rarely cooked, he was too lazy to.
My dad grinned at me. "Oh, my dear offspring, Daddy's so proud of you!" he gushed.
All he got from me was a weird look.
Not being put down by my non verbal reply, he continued, "You got into Stutacco High School!"
"Your egg is going to burn if you don't watch it," warned my mum, but I was too shocked to hear it.
I got into Stutacco High School?
Really?
I gave a weird laugh. "Ha ha, Dad. It's not April's Fools today. Could've got me there."
The wide grin was still plastered on his face. "I'm not kidding you! This is your acceptance letter!"
He reached into his apron pocket (which I may add, had a huge Barney face on it) and took out a smart white envelope. He casually tossed it to me. "I couldn't believe my eyes when this came in the mail!" he exclaimed.
I stared at the white envelope and slowly opened it. I unfolded the letter slowly, hardly believing my eyes. "Congratulations, Miss Harrison, you have been accepted to Stutacco High School."
I stared at the sentence that was written in elegant, cursive handwriting for three seconds.
Then I jumped out of my seat, fist pumping. "OH HECK YES!!" I cheered while dancing around the table. My dad joined me along in my crazy dance.
A burning smell wafted into the dining room, causing me to snap out of my euphoria. "What's that?" I asked, sniffing the air.
My dad's eyes widened in horror. "Blast!"
