By the time I woke up, it was already way past noon. Considering that I had stayed up to five last night, that would be an appropriate time to wake up, other than the fact that it also meant my body clock was so screwed up now.
I wondered why the twins hadn't come barging into my room to wake me up, or why Steve hadn't hollered his usual "Rise and shine!!" ritual, but then I remembered what happened and I buried myself deeper in my blankets, wanting to find comfort in them.
Truth was, I didn't want to face reality. I was scared that when I got out of bed, everything would be real, everything that happened would come back rushing to me like a tidal wave. So for now, I wanted to forget it while I could.
Skipping school wasn't part of the game plan actually, but it was definitely considered a bonus. At least I hope I wasn't the only one who skipped.
Just then, my phone vibrated. I groaned and rolled over to check it like the morning paper, and grinned when I realised it was from Nate.
(Hey, please tell me you skipped lessons today. You were up just as late as I was, you know.)
I laughed, temporarily forgetting about all that had happened. I quickly texted him back.
(Then I guess great minds think alike. I was hoping you skipped school too.)
I grinned to myself as I started thinking about Nate and his stupid jokes again. He was really easy to talk to, and he kept my mind off things. I didn't like him that way, I only thought of him as a friend. Besides, he was attached already.
My phone vibrated again.
(Awesome. You wanna meet up somewhere later? I want to introduce you to my girlfriend.)
Smiling, I replied.
(Sounds great. So you guys made up already?)
Placing my phone back on my bed, I decided that today would be a day off. Today would just be a fun day out. No classes, no Steve, just fun.
My phone vibrated again and I looked at the new message.
(Let's just say that women simply cannot resist the temptation of roses. I'll meet you at that new shopping mall near Blake's house at half past two, alright?)
I stared at my phone screen and re-read the message.
I furrowed my eyebrows and frowned.
Who on earth is Blake?
Not wanting to look like a fool if I asked him who Blake was, I replied, "Sure."
The moment he replied, (Cool. See you then) I dashed out of my room in just a hoodie and denim shorts down to the twins room. Barging open their door, I shut my eyes tightly and yelled loudly, "Okay! Eleanor, Angela, whoever knows who is Blake gets a dollar!" as though I was in a life and death situation.
Silence.
I hesitantly opened one eye.
I freaked out.
Eleanor was in the middle of a hot and heavy make out session with Philip.
"Felicia... You... you..." stuttered Eleanor.
I looked pretty silly there with jaws dropped and eyes widened. Philip looked embarrassed, to say the least.
I wasn't able to say a word, I was so shocked. Slowly, I closed the door and walked off, my mouth still hanging open.
"Felicia? Hello?" Angela's voice brought me back to my senses.
I turned my head robotically to her. "Huh?"
