I was so confused. So incredibly confused. I closed my eyes. And I saw Maxine's eyes when she asked me to trust her.
So I decided to trust her.
"I see, Damien. Well, since you're busy, I shan't disturb you any further," I said.
"Does that mean you believe me?"
Hell no.
"Of course, I trust that you wouldn't be unfaithful to me," I lied. Damien had a smirk on his face for a moment but quickly masked it with fake relief.
I saw that smirk, Damien. And I know what that means.
"Thanks, Felicia. I knew you would believe in me. You wouldn't mind if I continue explaining some things to Andrea, right?" he asked sweetly. A little too sweetly, in my opinion.
"Yeah." I said, but not before sending Andrea a death glare.
Fuck that bitch.
I went to Steve and held his hand. I called over my shoulder, "In that case, I'll have breakfast with Steve."
I walked off without looking back. Steve was giving me an are-you-alright look but I ignored it. My heart ached. So badly.
"I'll go and get our breakfast. You'll wait at the table, okay?" asked Steve. I nodded and smiled sweetly at him.
To show Damien I had my own too.
He left me at the table, leaving me to think about it.
Damien. He was cheating on me. Blatantly. Right in the cafeteria. Maxine warned me about him. It hurt. It hurt so much. My mind reeled back to the times we spent together.
When I bumped into him on the first day of school.
When I realised he was in my biology class. And that he would be sitting next to me.
When he'd ran after me in the corridor... asking me for a date.
When he would exchange little chat notes with me during class.
It was one of the happiest moments of my life.
I'd trusted him... and he betrayed that trust.
I hate that bitch Andrea. But most of all, I hate Damien. I'd get my revenge on him, no matter what it takes.
And for Louise too. I didn't know what the fuck he did to Louise, but I know he'd hurt her bad.
Steve returned with pancakes and eggs. He looked at me with a concerned glance. "Are you okay? You seemed a bit weird back there," he said.
I kept quiet for a few moments. Then I said, "I know Damien was lying. I said I trusted him just now just to avoid a commotion."
He looked at me quietly. "So? What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to do something big, but I'll need your help on it. Will you help me?"
Steve hesitated.
"I won't force you. He is, your cousin after all - "
"I'll do it. If it's for you, I'll do anything."
I looked at him gratefully. "Thanks, Steve."
"Anything for you, Cinderella."
~Louise~
Felicia is sitting on my chair and I have no idea how am I supposed to answer her question.
'What did Damien do to you?'
How the heck am I supposed to answer that?
'Oh, he dumped me after having a vigorous night with me.'
