As Steve's lips descended onto mine, I was frozen in a state of shock.
Am I dreaming?
The familiar feel of his soft lips against mine...
His kiss was gentle, as though he was hesitant to kiss me. Then I realised that I was just foolishly standing there, not responding to his kiss.
Instantly I responded to the kiss, my arms wrapping tightly around his neck to pull his head closer. Steve started moving his lips slowly onto mine and I savoured the moment, not caring about anything else. I kissed him back with all the emotions that I had pent up for the past year, channelling it all into the kiss.
With a sudden burst of passion, Steve's arms started rubbing my back and his breathing grew heavier. The kiss grew rougher and more passionate as he opened his mouth and our tongues met.
From then on, it was purely based on instinct. I had totally lost my senses and all I knew in that moment was that I never wanted him so bad.
Steve seemed to be mirroring my thoughts because he wrapped his arms tightly against my waist. I could vaguely feel his hand travelling down and slipping under my shirt.
A sudden flash of reality shot past my clouded mind and I gasped. "No, Steve..." I said, grabbing his hand. "Not yet."
I looked at Steve. His breathing was laboured and rugged, and his lips were wet and swollen. I stared back at him, breathing heavily.
"What was that kiss for?" I asked.
Steve grinned.
"Because, my dear Cinderella, you looked too irresistable in the moonlight."
I stared at him open mouthed.
Steve winked at me and pushed my jaw up. "Close your mouth, Cinderella. That might give me ideas."
Immediately I snapped my jaw shut and huffed. "Someone's getting cocky after that kiss."
"But of course," said Steve, with that familiar smirk on his face. "I -"
"Felicia?"
My eyes widened.
No, it couldn't be -
"Kane," I croaked. "What are you doing here?"
Kane scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "Well, I was -"
"Wait," I said. I examined Kane from head to toe. A mischievous smile slipped onto my face. "Kane..."
Kane looked scared, or rather, guilty. "Yes?"
"Were you snogging this girl called Emily just now?"
Kane's eyes widened. "How did you know - Oh," he said, realising he might have been just a little too passionate with his kissing for anyone not to notice. "I swear I didn't -"
"It's perfectly fine, Kane," I said, grinning. "Go back and finish what you started."
To say Kane was surprised would be an understatement. "Eh? What?"
"Are you a Canadian?"
"What? Not only Canadians say 'eh'!" he protested.
I laughed. "Yeah, sure, big guy. Go away, shoo shoo. Go back and finish your make out session."
"You don't mind?" asked Kane.
I smiled, genuinely. "Oh gosh, you big idiot, no I don't. Now hurry up and get back in there place that's bursting with pheromones."
