"You ready for this?" they asked. I grinned and nodded.

Taking a deep breath, I opened the door and gasped.

When Maxine said the ballroom was big, she really wasn't kidding.

Luckily, we didn't have to pay that much money because guess what? Stutacco High School really has a lot of excellent facilities that gives us a special discounts on birthdays, since its a tradition. Which works out well for all of us.

Maxine said she couldn't get the fancy ones. If this wasn't considered fancy, I really can't imagine how the other ballrooms would look like.

And the best part was knowing that all of this was for me.

The twins disappeared into the crowd immediately. I smiled to themselves at their impatience as I made my way through the ballroom to find the rest.

There were lots of people from my classes waltzing around to the slow music. As I passed by them, many of them wished me Happy Birthday. I smiled and thanked them, thinking that if I'd been at home, it'd just be some friends around celebrating, nothing as grand as this.

Strangely, I couldn't seem to find the rest. I saw the twins at a table with some wine glasses, chatting with Philip and another handsome young man whom I presumed was Philip's cousin. I walked up - gracefully - to them and smiled sweetly around the table.

"Hey everyone, having a good evening?" I smiled.

The twins glared at me while Philip and his cousin nodded politely and responded with a "Fine, thank you."

I smiled and nodded to them before turning to the twins and asking in a low voice, "Where are the rest?"

Eleanor glared at me. "Somewhere over the rainbow. Now stop playing gooseberry here, damnit. We almost had them!" she muttered.

I smiled sweetly back at her. "No, Eleanor. I happen to find these two really entertaining right now so I think I shall stay."

Angela gave me a glare too. "They're at the back. Now get the hell out of here."

I feigned a grateful look. "Oh thank you so much!" I gushed. "But remember, I'll come back if I don't find them," I added, smiling evilly at them.

I went to the back of the hall to find them, but mysteriously, I only found Steve there.

"Steve, where are the rest?" I asked, trying not to gawk at him. Unlike the others, he was dressed in a white tux with a smart black tie. With his hair gelled back and his charming smile, he was absolutely handsome. Completely dashing.

Steve frowned at me. "You see me and that's the first question you ask? I'm so hurt," he feigned an over exaggerated crying voice.

I grinned at him. "I don't have to add on to your huge ego," I smirked.

Steve pouted at me and I resisted the urge to go all 'Aww...'. He looked so adorable whenever he pulled the puppy eyes trick.

He then stopped the puppy eyes and started checking me out thoroughly, letting out a low wolf whistle. "You look extremely gorgeous tonight," he spoke in a low voice.

I blushed and smiled to myself. "You don't look half bad either," I responded.

Yes! I finally came up with a smart response without embarrassing myself!

"Okay, but seriously, where are the rest?" I asked, taking a glass of punch from a passing waiter.

"They're all out with their own dates," he answered and I gasped.
