We both sat on the couch holding Hershey kisses. Well they are enough for tonight's drama.
It was already 3 Am and she was all set to listen to me.
"Jess. I am in deep trouble. I feel for him so much that I don't know how to control my feelings and I miss talking to him right now. I miss him so much that I am going to break this stupid challenge and call him right now!"
I said with a straight face with a single breathe and headed towards my phone and was about to call him when Jess snatched my phone and scolded "Have some dignity woman. A girl whom I know doesn't lose challenges. Riles its not you! My riles would've nailed this challenge."
"Yes, you are right. Wait what are you doing there?" I said as I saw a notebook and pen in her hand.
"Are you making notes? Don't say you are doing that!" I howled back at her.
"Yes, honey I am. You are way more complicated then my brain can tolerate. So when God has given us such beautiful things as pen and paper, why not use it to pen down your relationshit!" She replied with a smirk.
"Woah Jess! Sleeping late is really taking your brain over so bad. This is something I don't get." I replied.
"Whatever continue." She said as she yawned.
Anyways I continued speaking. I really need to push out everything out of my brain.
"See, its already two months since I had this crush on him." I was saying when she cut me off and shouted "What! Its been two months! Girl! Remember?" She stared at me and tried to remember what she meant.
Well, I didn't remember. One of my old habits.
"You said that after two months of your realisation you will propose him. Yes you said that only." She told me.
"When?" I questioned her, because I had no idea about when she was talking about.
"The night you told me that you have feelings for him. The night we danced like crazy and promised we won't dance like that until he is your boyfriend? Remember stupid!" She tried hard to remind me.
I pushed through every memory and finally found the one she was talking about. "Yeah! I do remember about it now! That means I'm supposed to propose him?" I asked her timidly.
"Of course dude!" She said and shoved in a lot of kisses.
Suddenly the thought of proposing him and letting him know my feelings started to shake my confidence.
Questions started rising. What if he doesn't like me as a girlfriend.
Maybe he has a secret girlfriend, or he has a crush on some girl in the cheer leading squad or worst on Leah.
Maybe he feels awkward and we never talk again. I cannot bear the loss of a friend. Especially a friend like Lucas.
If we end up to no where and I do something stupid and starts hating me.
Isn't it too much for a 9th grader?
I wish there was some kind of device that would tell me his feeling towards me.
Alas, I live in the real world.
"But Jess.." I was about to say when she said "I know there are tons of questions and a lot of non existing devices going round your brain, but listen girl you have to be you. I know he definitely likes you."
"How do you know that? Has he said anything as such about me?" I asked her restlessly.
"No he hasn't yet. But hey, nobody climbs up to your window just because you weren't picking up your phone. I also called you, but see I never climbed up to your window." She replied with a chuckle.
"I know he is really caring." I admiringly replied.
"And way too fancy." She hit me instantly with the truth.
"Stop ruining my moment. Now tell me what I should do?" I asked her at last.
"You go to him and tell him how you feel." She said.
"You go to him and him how you feel." I mimicked her and added "you think that is easy? Oh! Jess you are here to help. Not to complicate things." I replied as I threw chocolates on her.
"Thank you for chocolates girl. See, its easy when you are sure about yourself. If you trust him and really like him, then expressing yourself isn't a big deal. Also, lucas is a good person, he won't make you feel bad or insulted. Even if he turns you down." She explained me as she held me from my shoulder and looked straight into my eyes.
That was deep man.
3 Am Jess, is just something different. She is way more cool than normal Jess.
I guess next time she is not sleeping at this hour.
"Can we wait for like sometime. Like two more months." I asked her.
"Of course dear we can wait. I'm damn sure in next two months he'll get a girl and then maybe after he breaks up with her, then you date him. You are proposing him this coming Monday!" She scolded me almost half asleep.
"Monday is just like so early. I need to prepare my words and make up the whole situation." I started telling her my to do list, when she shouted on me "Shut up! You are not any of these shit. I'll tell you what you are doing.
Where is your favorite spot to meet?" She asked me.
"The spot. Basically the garden with roses and a broken wall." I replied.
"Venue of proposal check." she said aloud as she ticked in her notebook.
"What?" I questioned her with confusion.
"You favorite time to meet?" She asked spontaneously.
"In the evening. Mostly durning sunset." I replied.
"Time of proposal check!" She exclaimed. "See your proposal is planned." She said, as she closed her notebook and climbed on the bed and laid down.
Hey it wasn't complete yet. I still have no idea about what I'm going to say?
I crawled on the bed and shook her and asked "but what am I going to say to him jess!"
"Whatever you feel about him idiot. Now let me sleep." She replied in a sleepy tone.
"No I can't" I shouted after a lot of thinking on what I'm going to say.
Alas, it didn't affect Jess. She was sleeping as peacefully she could.
So, I sat on her and started punching her. I punched until she lost her temper.
"Okay okay! I'll do something" at last she woke up, her hair all frizzled up and she was yes, frustrated.
She stood up and went to her closet and pulled out a shirt.
She wore on that shirt and I asked "What are we actually doing?"
"Enacting your so called proposal." She replied angrily.
"Umm.. I want to ask you one more thing." I asked her in a shaky voice.
"Now what Riles!" She grumpily replied.
"Isn't that Jeremy's shirt? That he wore on the welcome party?"
She stood quite and didn't utter a word.
"So miss Jessica Lawrence, may I ask you what is Jeremy's shirt doing in your closet and also what were you talking about while sitting in the cafe for three beautiful hours?" I sarcastically said as I moved towards her.
Well she had no reply further. She threw the shirt, murmured something under her breath and with a red face, went inside the covers and pretended to sleep.
"I know you are not sleeping. By the way Jeremy is a nice catch. You know he is handsome, romantic and many more things. You are right, you should give him a chance." I irritated her as I strolled over her.
With an instant she punched on my face.
"Ouch Jess that hurts!" I yelped in pain.
"You have done enough to deserve that. Don't you?" She replied back.
"Oh! Jess likes Jeremy!" I shouted out in revenge.
