Days pass like the pages turned by the wind.
They turn together and so fast that you miss out the actual page you were reading.
For me that page was meeting Lucas last time.
We both have been busy throughout these days.
Jess is already off to New York. Yes she is also shifting to New York to study cyber law.
She is going to be a cyber lawyer. I mean it's so cool. I never expected that but she will do just fine.
She left ten days ago and tomorrow we both leave.
Mom is all going up and down, stumbling and throwing old things that I no longer require.
This is such a big step.
Putting everything in cupboard. Old clothes, books, things, decorations that I'll leave here, and innumerable memories that I'll take with me.
Everyone goes through this. JJ also did. He was excited.
How?
I called him too and he told me to calm down.
Jess texted me that she will come to pick me up. We both will be sharing same apartment.
Life is going for everyone. Jeremy is also in New York. He lives just an hour away from us.
Everything. Is. Changing.
I am freaking out I guess.
Next morning, me and Lucas met outside our homes. Our families were also here. Telling us to be good and asking us not to do drugs or smoke. Study hard and be kind. Same things that I've been hearing for past two weeks.
He looked at me and smiled.
He looked ready. He will be okay. I know it now.
We hugged our parents and our uber was here too.
We put in our luggage and sat inside. He held my hand and squeezed it tight. He knew I was about to cry.
I've been emotionally so unstable that I'm wondering what is happening to me?
The car drives and it started raining. The rain pounded against the metal of the car creating beautiful rhythmic sounds and it was like rain has a busy conversation going on.
We didn't speak anything to me a each other. Felt like we are out of stories now. We are onto making new stories now.
Once in a while, we looked at each other and tried to smile. Throughout his hand was on my thigh caressing it.
We reached the airport and within no time we were sitting side by side in the airplane.
Just a month ago, we were so happy while leaving to Italy and couldn't stop talking and suddenly so quite.
"You have start working hard. Also, take care of yourself." Lucas initiated the conversation.
"Well you are the one who over works and stresses a lot. You should take care." I shot back at him.
And suddenly we started laughing loud enough for both of us to hear and slow to not disturb anyone else.
We joked and laughed a lot while we were travelling and I didn't even realise when we reached New York.
The pilot announced our arrival and I took in a deep breathe.
This is it.
My ultimate destination.
We gathered up our luggage. Lucas's next flight was just after an hour.
We grabbed our coffee and waited for Jess to arrive.
All smiling and transformed, Jess came inside the cafe.
She has changed completely.
"Gosh did you enter a magic wardrobe that changed like this?" Lucas asked.
"Whatever Lucas. My bestie looks the best here." I shrugged him off and stood up to hug her.
It's been so long since I met Jess. We haven't been away for so long since we met.
She hugged Lucas and took the seat beside me.
We were busy talking when Jess asked "You both sure that you want to take this break?"
"Yes we are." we both replied.
"It's of no use when you're still in love. I mean you could still be together and talk only when necessary." Jessica pointed out.
"Jess when we are in love then it's not easy to stay apart. We don't want talking to feel like a burden or some kind of compulsion. Things change when you become lovers and when you are ex lovers." I replied.
"okay as you say." Jess replied.
"So you guys are here." Said a heavy voice which I know is Jeremy's.
"Who called you Huh?" I asked him.
"Nobody says anything to my buddy." Lucas defended and stood up to hug him.
I guess every friendship is like this only.
We talked a little more and Lucas checked in his watch. It was time for him to leave now.
He hugged me and kissed me again.
It was hard to let go.
Way to hard that it stings inside and feels like cursing yourself.
Shouting to every one possible.
"So buddy see you in eight months." said Jeremy.
"Eight months?" Jess questioned.
"Dumbo! Our annual reunion at Lucas's cabin. You were the one who pulled up this plan along with her and now you act like you don't even remember." jeremy replied.
"Oh okay." she said.
"See you in eight months." I said to Lucas.
"yes in eight months." he replied.
This time I hugged him so tight, and I know he won't be able to breath.
I just didn't want to let go. I pulled apart as the announcements were being doing regarding his flight and he kissed me again and went away.
He turned back and waved a goodbye and shouted "Bye city girl. I'll miss you!"
"Bye country boy. I'll miss you too! " I shouted back and he disappeared in the places beyond my eyes could reach. He was gone and this is reality. The moment I wish for never to happen has come into existence.
I think I wished upon the wrong star.
We three moved towards the car and I sat behind and looked out and said "Maybe it could have been forever." and sighed.
Woah the last some chapters gave been quite an emotional havoc for them and for me as well.
I'm so excited just one more chapter to go and finish this beautiful story.
Guess what surprise takes place in the epilogue?
Also press the little 🌟 button.
Keep spreading love and be kind!
