you watched from the outside of the fences surrounding the arena. bellamy was tied up and gagged. by his own sister. she has officially lost it. you hated seeing him like that. all of this could have been stopped if you all just tried harder. or could it have been? you were basically arguing with yourself.
you couldn't let the only person you had left get hurt—or die. with your eyes glazed over, you stomped up to where octavia sat high and powerful on her stupid throne. you felt your throat go tight as everyone else behind you were cheering about all the gagged 'traitors'. she couldn't do this. how could she? he was her brother.
"octavia!"you yelled, banging against the metal that separated you two. your breathing was already going uneven and you were sure you would lose it.
"octavia! octavia let me in! you can't do this! please."you sobbed the last part, resting your forehead against the barrier. you loved bellamy so much, losing him like this, after spending so long with him would be terrible. you couldn't lose him, you needed him. he kept you stable when things got rough. he was there when no one else was. he understood you in a way that no one else could.
"octa-" octavia–or as her people call her now, bloodreina, revealed herself to you. you saw she had a few tears slipping down her cheek. she was crying?
"come in." she ushered you in, shutting both of you in while you spoke. you had so much to say. so much has clouded your mind since you came down. it was all too much all at once. between finding out clarke was alive (and had a kid all of a sudden), the prisoners who took over eden and what went on in the bunker. and we didn't even know the start of what happened. no one has even dared talk about the dark year.
"you need to stop this, you can't let them get hurt. not bellamy." you begged, taking multiple steps towards her. she shut her eyes, taking a long breath in and letting a shaky one out. when she opened her eyes it was like all emotion was now gone.
"i can't do that, Y/N." octavia said with a scary amount of calmness. you shook your head in frustration, running a hand down your tired face.
"he's your brother." you reminded her, a look of disgust washing over your face. octavia wasn't the girl you knew. she wasn't the same girl from the dropship or even the girl who you guys had left behind. she never would let this happen.
"he's a traitor, now if you don't have anything else to say, you can leave." She concluded, sitting back into her spot. you bit you lip and shook your head, worried now more than ever. a few guards escorted you out back to the outskirts of the arena.
your eyes travelled down to where a few people were kneeled down still. other than bellamy, you recognized a few others. gaia, indra, and niylah. four people who octavia loved were sitting there in the arena, waiting to fight where they'll kill each other. only one will make them out. your heart broke even more.
bellamy's eyes found yours and he gave his same old smile he always gave to reassure you. and somehow, for the third time in less than twenty minutes your heart was being shattered and your breathing was becoming unstable. he mouthed something up to you, to which you let more tears escape your eyes.
'i love you.'
you gripped onto the fencing, smiling ba k to your boyfriend.
