- Two Week Later -
My phone went off. "Hey Anna, miss me already?" I laughed. We parted ways not ten minutes ago after work.
"Always. Anyways I was gonna say we can go shopping today. I'll be over at your house in two hours?"
"Sure. See you then."
I opened the door to the house and took off my wig. I loved being Violet, but does it feel nice to take the sweaty wig off.
"Mom you up?" I called, closing the door behind me. "Mom?"
I walked into the living room and dropped the wig onto the floor. "Mommy?"
I ran to her side. She was laying on the floor, eyes open. Not breathing.
She had been stabbed. There was blood everywhere. She looked like she put up a fight because the room was a mess. "Mommy!" I shook her. "Wake up. Mom! Wake up!" I screamed threw the raging tears. I shook her harder but nothing.
Oh God. She's dead. My mom is dead. I crawled away from her cold corpse and hit the wall beside the couch. I curled my legs up to my chest and rocked back and fourth crying.
I had no idea how long it had been when there was a knock on the door.
I was frozen. I couldn't move. It could have been Dex for all I knew, he could have taken me, or killed me and I wouldn't have cared. Wouldn't have moved.
The knocking continued until someone finally opened the door. "Maria?" Anna took one step in. "Oh my God Maria!" She ran to my side, side stepping my mother. "What happened?"
I couldn't speak. I had no idea how to work my vocal cords. I shook.
"Come on." She grabbed and tried to bring me to the couch but my legs gave out right beside my mom. I curled up to her side and rested my head on the crevice where her shoulder connected to her neck, I held her hand in one of mine, the other rested on her stomach, right on the wound that had ended her life. This couldn't be happening.
"Maria come on." Anna tried but failed to move me. I can't leave her.
Anna stood up and walked into the room, I heard her on the phone but I have no idea who she was talking to, and I didn't care. My mom was dead. I didn't care about anything anymore.
