hadley had been pacing in front of the wall phone for an hour, waiting rather impatiently for a phone call from louisiana's very own mr. eric northman.
cris watched from the mustard yellow armchair with amusement as her sister began to practice what she would say, "why don't you ju-"
she was cut off by the shrill ringing of the phone, which didn't last long as hadley quickly pulled it to her ear. "i've been waiting for an hour for you to call me back, yes i know you sleep during the day i called you as soon as the clock struck nine in louisiana so don't give me that."
the woman shot her sister a playful glare as she heard her snicker from across the room, she listened to eric intently so she wouldn't miss a thing he said. the man could hear the heartbreak in her voice but couldn't find it in him to care, it was his maker that was missing.
"i'll be there in a day with sookie stackhouse and bill compton, they will help us find godric." eric paused for a couple of seconds and the woman held the phone so tight her knuckles turned white, "he will be okay hadley."
"i really fucking wish people would stop saying that." eric chuckled and hadley found herself smiling too.
"my apologies, ms. love. i'll see you tomorrow." the man ended the call and hadley hung up the phone, turning around she smiled to her sister who had been worriedly listening to the two.
the younger of the two stood up from her comfortable seat and pulled her sister onto the long white sofa, hadley cuddled into cris with her eyes closed. the two sat like this for a while before hadley heard her sisters quiet snores, with a smile on her face the woman got up and covered the young woman with a blanket before heading to her own room and sitting on her bed.
hot tears rolled out of the woman's eyes as she stared at a picture of her and godric, she stared ahead at the camera while he stared at her. she laughed quietly at the memory before finally putting the picture frame down and pulling the blankets over her, shutting her eyes and praying for good dreams.
