she had never felt more afraid of something in her life, as soon as she had got home she began pacing around the living room. cris, who had been in her room watching horton hears a who, popped her head around the corner of her door frame and smiled at her sister. "horton hears a whore," when hadley only frowned at her she walked towards the woman "what's wrong?"

before she could tell her sister she felt a shortness of breath and a sharp pain in her chest, she stopped pacing and grabbed the back of the yellow armchair, her chest was heaving up and down and she began gasping for air.

cris rushed over to her, catching her as she collapsed which brought her down too. hadley felt like her lungs were closing up and she couldn't do anything about it, she grabbed at her chest helplessly. "hadley just take a deep breath okay, please just in and out. come on you're okay it's okay, come on."

hadley began slowing her breathing, her eyes were watering as she leaned her head against her sisters chest. they sat like that on the floor until hadley's breathing returned to normal, "how long has it been since your last ashma attack?"

"it's not ashma!" she yelled at her sister, getting off the ground and walking over to the couch to sit down. "i don't know, maybe a year? i threw out the inhaler because it stopped working."

cris nodded and got off the ground as well, sitting next to hadley who had her head in her hands. "what's wrong?"

"eric has me going undercover with sookie at the fellowship of the sun, and i don't think i can do it." she truthfully said, her voice somewhat muffled as she spoke.

the younger woman shook her head, "you do realize you're not helpless right?" hadley looked at her, "you dropped out of college when julia disappeared to take care of me, you picked up two jobs, one of which you constantly got sexually harassed. you're the strongest person i know and if theirs anybody capable of doing this, and finding godric, it's you hadley."

"i just don't want to disappoint anybody."

she sat up against the couch and tried wiggling her feet out of the boots she was wearing, "well people are rarely surprising and mostly disappointing so grow up."

cris shrugged her shoulders and then helped her sister take off her shoes, hadley thought about her sisters words carefully. she knew it wasn't meant as an insult, but cris was absolutely right. if anybody could go into that church and find godric it was her. "i think i can do it."

"you're goddamn right you can."
