the vampires had left the love household a little after one in the morning, eric however chose to stay and go over a few of the suspects the group had come up with. he was flipping through the packet whenever hadley walked into the office in her pajamas, her hair in messy waves.

eric glanced up at her before continuing to look through the small tan folder, "i was looking at this one and it seems like a good place to start." he slid it down to the girl that sat in a chair with her legs crossed like a child. "i personally am very familiar with the intentions of the group."

"eric this is a church pamphlet."

"the fellowship of the sun are very open with their no fangs allowed policy." he continued talking as if the woman hadn't said a thing, "we need more information though."

hadley nodded, she had heard of the fellowship of the sun but didn't think they were capable of kidnapping godric. her eyes scanned the pamphlet a few more times before she let out a frustrated shout, "why did this have to happen?"

"hadley please-"

"don't fucking hadley me eric, why now? why him? what did godric ever do to anybody? wh- why" she began crying, not being able to hold it in any more.

eric stared awkwardly as she cried, not sure how to comfort her. the man sighed heavily, massaging his forehead gently before he got up and walked over to her. he put a hand on her shoulder, not expecting her to shoot up and wrap her arms around him in a tight hug. "what are you doing?"

hadley pulled her arms away from him and stepped away, shaking her head. "i'm sorry i wasn't thinking."

she began walking out of the room when eric pulled her arm and spun her into a hug, holding her and allowing her to cry as long as she needed to. they stayed hugging for a few more seconds, hadley backed away from him and smiled gently. "i'll see you and your friends tomorrow eric."

the woman walked out of the office and down the hall to her bedroom, collapsing onto her bed and immediately falling asleep.

eric left the home with a tru blood in hand, he had left the files in the office so hadley could take another look at them before she met sookie and bill. while walking the man saw the familiar face of cris love, she leaned against the end of the building as if she was waiting for him. "she's trying you know?"

eric only nodded, continuing past the young woman. "she doesn't want anyone to know but deep down she thinks the worst, she thinks he's dead." she was now following him down the sidewalk, "she called you because they all said you knew him the best, that he's your maker or something."

eric stopped and turned to her, "you know nothing of this world so why don't you give it a rest?"

"because i don't need some popsicle showing up and trying to kill my sister for wanting the person she loves safe! i have had to listen to her cry herself to sleep because of this and let me tell you it is heartbreaking to have to watch the toughest person i know come crashing down."

cris' chest heaved up and down as she finished snapping at the man, tears burned her eyes but she only blinked them away. "i have already lost one sister eric, i am not going to lose another one because of this shit."
