The next day, Tyler's still angry.

Who is Josh to say that Tyler isn't good enough? If anything, Tyler should be the one ditching Josh!

And so that's what he's going to do! Josh can't ditch Tyler if Tyler ditches him first!

(Even though he already kind of did, Tyler is going to be the one to formally announce it, herby declaring the end of the friendship himself because Josh is too chicken to.)

The bell rings for lunch, and students come piling out of classrooms.

The hallway is crowded, and that makes Tyler slightly nervous to walk up to Josh. They usually speak when the halls are relatively deserted, for no particular reason. But today that doesn't matter, because this will be the last time the two speak anyway.

Tyler waltz's up to Josh, drumming his hands on the locker door the boy hides behind, making him flinch and lean back to look at Tyler in surprise.

"Ty-Tyler?" He stutters, flushing as a few people walking by give the two weird looks.

Tyler leans against the now closed locker. Sliding close so him and Josh are almost touching.

"Avoiding me, are you?" He questions in a knowing tone.

Josh flushes, stumbling back a bit. He gives he back of his neck a scratch,

"I- No? I just..."

"Was avoiding me," Tyler finishes, giving him a toothy, sarcastic grin.

Josh stumbles back again, accidentally slamming into someone and making their books go flying.

"Gosh! I'm so sorry, I-"

The teen grumbles, picking up her books and storming away. Tyler watches, amused.

Josh's breathing picks up when more people look at him curiously. Tyler doesn't notice.

"You thought you could get rid of me so easily, didn't you?" He drawls, punching Josh's arm lightly. He flinches.

"Well, too bad," Tyler grumbles, crossing his arms childishly, "Because you cant ditch me if I ditch you first!" He declares, a pointed finger raised high.

Josh's eyes squint now. He looks at Tyler weirdly, about to question him before he feels more and more eyes burning into his head.

Too many people are looking at them now. Tyler doesn't seem to notice as he blabbers on and on about something weird that Josh doesn't quite completely understand.

He accidentally makes eye contact with a girl who's watching their conversation curiously. He squeaks and brings his hands up to cover his face.

Tyler finally seems to notice that Josh isn't listening to him, and all the people staring at them are invading their very important conversation.

He rolls his eyes and grabs Josh by the elbow, dragging him into the nearest bathroom and away from the intrigued eyes of their peers.

"Listen to me!" He growls, stomping his foot.

Josh freezes and brings all his attention on Tyler, who nods a thank you.

"Now, I will be the one to end our friendship. Me. Not you, me, I ditched you! If anyone asks that's what you have to say."

Josh stares. And stares and stares before he finally cracks what seems to be a smile.

"I- what... You're acting like child..." He says softly.

It seems to be just now that Tyler realizes how ridiculous he sounds. He almost even blushes in embarrassment.

"I..." He starts. He's finally at a loss for words as he realizes how much of an idiot he just made himself out to be.

He sighs, "Why aren't you talking to me?" He asks pathetically, leaning against the wall.

Josh bites his lip, muttering, "I dunno what ya' mean..." He says quietly. But the look on his face says he knows exactly what Tyler means.

Tyler just stares at him.

Josh flushes, biting his lip as Tyler's brown eyes bore into him.

Don't let him sway you! He's bad! Walk away!

"You're a bad influence!" He finally shouts, stepping away from the boy and covering his mouth.

Tyler scoffs, holding up his hands,

"Please, I simply give you ideas, if you actually go through with it, that's on you, sweetheart." He sings.

Josh flushes in shame. Tyler isn't wrong but he's never going to admit that.

"Well... I was never like this before..." He whispers, almost to himself. He looks down at his hands.

Tyler comes up behind him, gripping his shoulder and steering him toward the mirror. He looks into his own dull eyes, Tyler whispers in his ear.

"Are you sure about that?"

Josh takes in the drowsiness in his eyes, before they flicker to the hand Tyler has on his shoulder and his cheeks flush. He steps away from the strong hold.

"I..." He wants to say yes I am very sure thank you bye, but he just can't bring himself to.

"I'll see you later," He settles for instead, before rushing out of the bathroom.

Tyler watches the door swing close with pity in his eyes,

Before a small smile is brought to his face.

"Hopefully this means I'm forgiven!" for whatever it is I did, He calls.

There's no reply, but just imagining the blush on Josh's cheeks is enough to ease Tyler's worry.
