Amy stood in front of her closet looking at her clothes. She couldn't decide what to wear. What was that saying? "Dress to impress?" Amy smiled to herself and sighed. She knew she'd be here for awhile.

"What are you doing?" A man came walking up to Amy's front doorsteps.

"What does it look like I'm doing—"

Amy tightly closed her eyes. She sighed angrily. She was getting sick and tired of these strange images.

"What happened to your foot?" The man asked.

"I threw the glass vase at the wall... stepped on the glass by accident." Amy sniffed.

"Here, let me help." The man moved towards Amy.

"It's ok, I got it." Amy lurched forward and he caught her.

Amy gasped. She felt like she could feel the man's hands on her back. They felt so familiar to her.

Amy looked around her room for her phone. She found it on her nightstand and picked it up. Then, Amy unlocked her phone and went into her contacts. She pressed Steve's name and held the phone up to her right ear. Her left hand was pinching the bridge of her nose.

"Hello?" Steve answered.

"Hey, I'm sorry to do this but, I'm feeling a little nauseous today. Could I take a rain check on that date of ours?"

"Hey, I just saved your ass." The man's face was clear now. It was Steve's.

"Amy? You there?" Steve asked.

"Um..." Amy's hands felt shaky. Her whole body felt weak. Her legs felt like jello. "I just—" Amy slurred her words and dropped the phone. Then, she dropped to the floor. She was out cold.

"Amy?!" Steve opened her front door quickly and walked inside. He walked towards her bedroom, Amy was passed out on the floor. A small cut on her forehead was bleeding.

"Amy." Steve knelt on the floor and picked Amy up in his arms. "Amy, can you hear me?"

Amy's eyes fluttered.

"I just—" Amy slurred, "I don't—I don't feel like myself."

"We need to get you to a hospital." Steve picked Amy up in his arms and carried her out to his truck.

"It's ok, I got it." Amy slurred.

Steve sat Amy in the passengers seat and looked at her confused.

"You got what?" Steve asked.

"I-I cut my foot one time," Amy smiled. "You helped me to the hospital."

"You-you remember that?" Steve was now getting into the drivers seat. He shut the door and started the truck.

"Remember What?" Amy's eyes fluttered again. She felt so weak. She just wanted to sleep. To rest.

"Just hang on, alright?" Steve began to drive towards the hospital.

"How is she?" Steve asked the doctor.

"She lost some blood, but she's fine."

"Thank you." Steve smiled and walked towards Amy's room. He grabbed a chair and sat next to her bed. His hand held hers. Steve rubbed his thumb across Amy's knuckles. His head hung low.

"Hey, I'm not dead." Amy weakly smiled.

Steve looked up at her and smiled.

"Where's Danny, and Kono?" Amy began to slowly sit up.

"You remember them?" Steve asked.

Amy looked at Steve with a confused smile.

"Of course I remember them, why wouldn't I?"

Steve shook his head.

"No reason."

"I lost my memory, didn't I?" Amy asked.

Steve looked at Amy and didn't say anything.

Amy sighed and threw her legs over the side of the bed. She took both of Steve's hands in hers.

"Steve, it's not your fault. None of it is."

Steve looked at Amy confused.

"What are you—"

"Me, jumping in front of that rifle. Me almost dying. It's not your fault." Amy gave Steve a small smile.

Steve sighed.

"I just wanted to keep you safe." Steve cleared his throat. His eyes looked glassy. "And I messed up."

Amy scoffed.

"Are you kidding me? I mean, look at me, I'm still kickin." Amy smiled.

Steve chuckled lightly.

"You still kept me safe. No matter what happened. I'm still alive because of you." Amy rubbed her thumbs across his knuckles. This sent a strange, but familiar feeling in Steve's body. He looked into Amy's eyes, and she looked into his. Amy felt so lost in his eyes. She felt this feeling inside her, telling her to move closer to him. But, she stopped herself.

Amy cleared her throat and placed a strand of hair behind her ear.

"So, when do I get out of here?" Amy asked.

Steve scoffed and smiled at Amy.

"You're stubborn." Steve said.

Amy cocked a brow and crossed her arms over her chest.

"Am I now?"

Steve shook his head. The smile never leaving his lips.

"I'll go find your doctor." Steve got up and left the room.

Amy felt like she should've listened to that feeling. She should've moved closer towards him. But, why would she not want to?
