yoongi strolled into the pet store and saw jeongguk feeding one of the rabbits, his back facing the store front. when the younger heard the bell on the door chime, he turned around and beamed at the sight of his roommate. they weren't dating, but they were definitely a lot closer than they used to be.

he put down the small bag of food and made his way over to yoongi, pecking his lips quickly. "i've still gotta few minutes left. can you wait?"

"of course." yoongi smiled before walking towards the puppies. he's always loved dogs, he just never had the time for one. he looked at all the different breeds, but there was one that caught his eye. he was a tiny toy poodle with curly, golden brown fur.

"hey, gguk?" yoongi called out.

"huh?" the boy walked over with cleaning supplies in his hands.

"can i hold him?" he pointed towards the toy poodle. "just till we leave."

jeongguk obliged and released the puppy, giving him to yoongi. yoongi held the dog close, fawning over him.

once jeongguk finished his duties, he strode over to the former. he scratched the top of the puppy's head, smiling. "do you like him? he was anonymously dropped of here a few weeks ago."

yoongi grinned, not taking his eyes off the dog. "i love him. i kinda want to adopt him."

"really?" jeongguk's eyes lit up.

the older nodded his head quickly, beaming at the thought of taking the animal home with him.

after what seemed like hours of paperwork, the two boys finally went home with the toy poodle. now named min holly.

jeongguk placed the food and water bowls in the kitchen, filling them up, while yoongi pulled out several toys for holly. he flopped down on the floor so he could be closer to holly.

"what happened to never getting a pet? you told me i couldn't bring one home when i first moved in." jeongguk sat on the couch, propping his feet up on the coffee table.

"i said you couldn't bring a pet home. not that i couldn't." yoongi smiled up at jeongguk. he then rolled onto his back, pulling holly onto his stomach. he stroked his fur and closed his eyes.

jeongguk slid underneath the blanket next to yoongi, holly laying in between them. the older laid his arm across jeongguk's waist and pulled him a little closer, being cautious of holly.

"y-yoongi..? can i ask you something?" jeongguk looked up at the ceiling, avoiding eye contact.

"of course, gguk. what's wrong?" yoongi gently rubbed his side, min holly retreating to the foot of the bed.

"are we...?" jeongguk trailed off, his gaze falling onto the other's face.

yoongi smiled and leaned over, pressing his lips against jeongguk's. the latter immediately kissed back and moved closer, cupping yoongi's cheek.

the two slowly pulled apart, wide smiles on both of their faces. yoongi spoke softly, "only if you want us to be."

jeongguk kissed yoongi once more, mumbling against his lips, "i definitely do."
