3rd POV

you woke up tired and groggy. Your first instinct was to turn over and have Loki hold you, but then you remembered last night. And then the dream. Those damned nightmares seemed to haunt everything you did. At one point it would have been funny and a joke that you were haunted by a dream demon, but now you knew that that was all too possible. The stupid book you were keeping close tabs on, the one full of spells and supposedly a demon could be in your brain. Yet, you knew that wasn't right. Somewhere in you, you knew that you could do this forever. You sighed and sat up. our bullet wound was now healed, but a gold mark was plastered over it.

" What the hell? i don't remember doing that?" You mumbled with a yawn. You shook it off and walked into the bathroom, too afraid to leave your room and see the fear in everyone's eyes. You looked at yourself in the mirror and almost cried. You had hurt your best friend and started a fight with everyone all because you wanted some dumb answers. You glanced down and saw the sun-flower from yesterday all dried up. You grabbed it and looked back into the mirror and the image before you began morphing.

You were in still standing in front of a mirror but this one was gold and in a large and very fancy bathroom. You hair hit you at above your shoulders and your eyes had the sparkling golden pupil. You were in a beautiful gold gown that made our eyes even more gold. On your neck was a very familiar necklace around your neck. Next to you was a young woman around your age in a maids outfit.

" I still can't believe that you got a date at the masked ball! I mean you could be going on a date with one of the princes!" The woman joked which made you roll your eyes. You turned away from the mirror and grabbed a bag.

" Yeah right! No way would any nobleman ask me out! it's just a date, and besides what if it goes wrong!" You said nervously twirling your short hair on your finger. Your friend seemed to laugh and raised an eyebrow.

" What do you mean wrong?" She asked teasingly as she fixed your makeup. You sighed and looked at your hands.

" Well, love is tricky business. Nothing like good old facts, which you know i like! He could be the stranger who talks to fast, or ask me questions about me before I've decided that. He could sit to close, or calls AllFathers by their first names, or eat sheep heads -- but eat the jaw before the rest! But what scares me the most is, what if when he sees me he doesn't like it! What if he runs away and i can't hide! What do i do then! Or what id when he knows me, he's only disappointed. What if i give myself away to only get it given back!" You said with an anxiety racing heart. You r friend rolled her eyes.

" You are so defensive!"

" I'm not defensive, i'm cautious! You can't be too careful when it comes to sharing your life! i could end up a miserable wife!" You said while running your fingers through your hair. " He could be criminal, escaped from the prison where girls are scarce! he could be colorblind, how untrustworthy is that? He could be less then kind! Or even worse he could be very kind, have lovely eyes, make me laugh. I would come out of hiding and what do i do with that!"

" Oh Odin!"

" What if when he sees me, i like it and he knows it! What if he opens me up and i can't seem to close again! What happens then! if when he holds me, my heart is set in motion! i'm not ready for that! Of course i still hope for a great man to talk to and who likes me the way i am. Someone who when he sees me, wants to again!" You said with a flushed face. Your friend rolled her eyes as a knock came from the door.

' That's your ride."

Then you came back to reality, although you knew that was reality just not in this very moment. Your face swarmed with tears as you cried into your hand. You choked on sobs of pain and sorrow as you tried to dress. You put on a loose tank-top and a pair of shorts. You walked back into the bed area of your room and stared at the notebook resting on the bedside table. You crept warily towards it and ran your fingers over the soft leather. You sat down on the bed and opened the book, eyes skimming through each word. It seemed like Loki never stopped writing, which added to your sniffles of sorrow. Then you fell to the last thing he had written. In his smooth silky writing he had written of your sobs in the night. The way he longed to hold you, yet he couldn't seem to do it. He wrote about the song, and how he sang it every time you called out for him and how he soon gained enough strength to hold your hand. He didn't sleep at all. You finally seemed to stop crying and composed yourself enough to walk out to the balcony. You couldn't face anyone, so you decided to go to a coffee shop. You jumped off the balcony and landed on your feet in the grass. You quickly walked towards the cars but passed by the living room. Everyone stood in the room with sad faces and you could feel their sad hearts. You glanced at Loki to see his tired eyes and frowning lips. You shook your head and ran to the cars and got in the closest one. You turned on the engine and drove to the little coffee shop you and Loki had visited a few days before.

" Okay, y/n, no crying in public so let's have some good coffee and smile!" You told yourself in the car mirror. You slowly walked in the shop and were hit with the strong smell of baked good and coffee. You glanced around and saw everyone doing regular coffee shop things. You walked over to the desk and ordered a (favorite drink) before taking a seat at the window. You starred out day dreaming of what the people around you would be like without you being alive. The waitress brought you your drink and you smiled politely as you drank it slowly. You looked into the cup and sighed.

" A young lady sitting alone, how odd for this world." You jumped at the sound of the deep voice being directed at you. You turned to see a man, maybe in his 40's, with lovely dark skin and shinning gold eyes. Once you regained yourself you smiled sadly.

"I'm just here to pull myself together." You said starring back into the cup. you mind raced with amazing memories of all your friends. Like after you broke up with Tom and Bucky, Sam, and Steve took you out dancing. That night you got plenty of glares from girls jealous of the boys around you, but it was still amazing. Not to mention the drunk Bucky that accidentally tried to kiss you, you still laugh at it. Or the time Nat and Clint both helped you egg your math teachers house after she called you weak for not being able to present in front of the class. Or the time Tony made you the worst dinner in your life, but he still tried and thats all that matters. Then there was the time Thor brought you pop-tarts and coffee to help you get over something stupid and you two ended up spending the whole day watching your favorite movies -- thats why he is now obsessed with Ten Things I Hate About You and the Perks Of Being A Wallflower. The wonderful memories mad tears form in the corner of your eyes, and even so the stranger sat opposite.

"You are sad, and you let the doubt win." His voice was deep and gruff. You glanced up and then you thought about Loki. Your sad thought looped around and twisted everything he had every done. You thought about what might have happened if you had stayed with Tom. That seemed so nice in your moment of pain, but you knew you would still be in pain with Tom. All answers seemed to lead to pain. You smiled softly at the man and his golden eyes seemed to sparkle as they starred at you.

" Do i know you?" You whispered.

" Once. Once upon a time, you and i knew each other and you were dear to me." The man replied, his eyes glossing over as he thought about something just like you had a moment ago. Your smile became more genuine as you and the man spoke. He reassured you of your friends and your lover.

Meanwhile though, things weren't the same. Clint and Tasha had disappeared hours ago and no own was going to bother to find them. Thor and Tom were sat in your room with puffy eyes as they tried to not freak out about you being gone. Tony, Steve, and Bruce seemed to fight over everything at the absence of your soft eyes warning them not to hurt you. Lance, Keith, and y/b/f/n had ran away to their parents and the boys children, trying to tell them that Auntie y/n might not be around for a while. each person regretted everything of the previous night, especially after Bucky realized what had happened and with the help of Tom yelled at each person. But no one could compare to how much Loki and Bucky regretted the previous night. Once they realized you had disappeared, Loki and Bucky left for a bar. It was empty and damp, only a few sad day drinkers sat around drinking away their failed marriages and heartbreaks, but Loki knew that no amount of alcohol could fix him. He needed to take you to Asgard, get you to a proper doctor and make sure no one ever hurt you again. He needed to yell at his father about the threats, about the way you screamed in your sleep. Loki needed to hug you more then anything though, he needed to tell you that he loved you through every problem, because after hearing you cry for him in the night he knew you were more broken then he should ever let you be. Just as Loki was about to leave a man sat down next to him.

"I knew you were going to find her again someday, i just never thought you could possibly hurt her again. Not after what you did last time, and now i have to take you back to Asgard so we can show you two again. And then you'll remember why they want her. You'll remember why she is almost dead." The familiar voice of Heimdall said next to him. Loki froze and looked at him.
