Liam laid sprawled out onto his bed, looking at his ceiling.It was currently one in the morning and he just couldn't seem to find time to shut his eyes and fall asleep.For the past few days, Liam could only think about the blonde who suddenly came into his life again and fucked it all up.

Although that may seem like he's exaggerating, that's what he felt every time he thought of Niall.Thinking of how he wanted to strangle him for bring up the past and making him believe that maybe the universe was finally ready for them.That maybe there was a future between them but it all came crumbling down the moment life started to sink in again.

It was true, Liam had been the one that put pretty much all the nails in the coffin of their relationship.He was the one who has messed everything up from the beginning yet felt that the recent events couldn't be excusable even with the consideration of their past.Liam knew deep down that he still loved Niall and honestly at this point, he always will.

So when Zayn came to him with the news of Niall and his still husband to be, Liam internally broke.Although he knew it was bound to happen, everything was rushed and not at all how Liam ever envisioned the idea of him and Niall getting back together.He still deep down, had the yearning of being involved with his old love.

But of course his pride kept him from running to him and begging him to leave his fiancé for him.

Liam trudge to work, he has gotten at most two hours of sleep and he overall just felt dejected.He was working at a bio engineer company that specialized in creating innovated medical instrument.Just thinking of it, it made him a bit happier because he truly had a passion for it.

"Hey Liam."Alycia said cheerfully, she was the receptionist and honestly Liam's only good friend here.He had a couple of acquaintances, the people he really had to work with but Alycia and him had become close friends in the short time he had been here.

"Hey."Liam nodded his head, walking past her after politely asking her how she was and continuing the small talk for a little.He made his way to his cubicle, before making his 10 a.m meeting.

"Liam! We should get started."Sebastian said, he was basically his boss and green lighted any modifications or new ideas that were presented during meeting.

"Yeah, I'll be there in a minute."Liam forced a smile, closing his laptop.As he stood, he saw a too familiar blonde head of hair.His eyebrows furrowed and he attempted to not stare for too long.

"This doesn't really partake in our department, but one or two of us comes here twice a week and listen to any meetings that are happening.We keep track of the economic standpoint of everything."Linda, the head of the marketing department, smiled.Niall nodded, grinning as he looked around, well until his eyes landed on Liam.Both of them diverted their eyes away from each other, Liam rushed to the conference room while Niall tried to pay attention to basically his new employer.

Before Aaron left, he forced Niall to take a step to becoming more independent.Meaning he filled out any application that Niall qualified for with his business degree.One of them being apart of a marketing department for a bio engineering company.

Niall  shook his head,it was all too cliche,he thought.Theres no way he was working around Liam now, "Okay, let's head into the meeting, you're gonna sitting besides me and learn the ropes.Lets go in."Linda explained, picking up her briefcase and walking inside, Niall following suit.

Liam tried not to stare as he saw Niall sit down,  luckily the only available seats  were on the opposite side of the table, as far away from him as possible.Yet from his peripheral vision he could make out how nervous he was by the way he shifted in his seat.

"Let's get started, this week it was brought to my attention..."

After the meeting, Niall briskly tried to leave the scene following closely behind Linda."Hey!"Liam quietly yelled behind them, attempting not to be too loud in the office space.Linda halted, meaning Niall had to."Is this the new worker? I could give him a tour of the department while you take your lunch."He smiled, seeing how Linda's eyes shifted , contemplating it.

Niall tried hard not to stare at him, but felt his stomach drop."Yeah I could go out for some lunch, I owe you one!"Linda grinned, already grabbing her purse.

"No need."Liam waved, looking at Niall before flicking his gaze to the hallway, signaling it was the direction they needed to go.

"Liam..."Niall paused, fidgeting with his dress shirt."I think-"

"Wait."Liam replied, his time being indistinguishable.Niall couldn't tell if he was upset at him nor could he tell if he was happy.Liam guided him the stairwell, knowing that it's the only quiet area of the office where they are actually able to speak with one another.He turned to face him, Niall could finally look up at him  and notice the coldness in his eyes, the built up anger."You really are a complete liar, aren't you?And now you wanna come in and invade my workspace too?"

"Liam..."

"What? Are you gonna tell me that you're sorry or that it should have went differently? I get it Niall."Liam huffed out, feeling his skin start to steam with rage.He saw Niall's face drop, making him angrier.Maybe at himself for making the man he loved yet hated upset but for also caring so much about him.

"I don't really know what to say Liam..."He paused, taking a breath after realizing he was holding it all in."Me and Jackson did break up, we're over.But I took this job in order to make myself more independent.When me and you broke up, I got with Jackson, and tried to love him as much I used to love you.I never got the chance to be myself, and grow by myself.I just... I don't know why I'm saying this.... like you would care but... I'm here for myself Liam, I came here to be my own person.And if that means having to see you glare at me from afar or have you hate me, so be it.Im not forcing you to interact with me, romantically or friendly, I just want us to have the most professional relationship."

Liam scoffed, "Niall, me and you both know that's impossible between us.Ever since we met, nothing has stayed friendly or professional"

"I guess this changes now,Liam.I was so hopeful that we were finally ready to be together, and although this time it's my fault, I don't think we ever will be.Well always be in different stages in our lives.Im sorry Liam, I'll always love you but I need to make sure I love myself first."

"Well, don't expect me to wait on you."

"We never waited on each other, Liam."

Okayyyy I know it's literally been a year and I'm 100% sure nobody is gonna read this by know but I wanted to finish this finally lmaooo
I don't want to give an excuse but I've been busy in school just graduated high school so that's cool.Got accepted into a UC and I'm working practically 40 hours a week sooooo.
